Abstract
The invention relates to a lubricating device for a gearbox (10) which has a separate oil pan (a-d) for each gearwheel pair and in which the oil level in the respective oil pans will only reach the gearwheel pair when it is under load. Whether the oil pans have to be filled or emptied may be determined by a sensor (82) in combination with a computer, and a control unit (70) detects which gear is engaged and therefore which gearwheels are under load. The oil pans may then be emptied/filled by a pump arrangement (40).
