Abstract
The tracker has an optical system (110) to receive incoming light (LS) from a scene containing a subject and to direct the light towards an image sensor (130), for producing primary data (Ds). A mask (120) alters a basic optical transfer function of a lens structure (111, 112) and the sensor into an enhanced optical transfer function, which is less sensitive to variations of an unknown distance (R) between the system and the subject. A processing unit (140) processes the data to produce resulting eye-tracking data (DEYE) representing a position estimate and gaze direction of an eye (101). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method of automatically registering and tracking eye of a subject (2) a computer program including instructions for automatically registering and tracking eye of a subject (3) a computer readable medium having a program including instructions for automatically registering and tracking eye of a subject.
