Abstract

The lance (1) has a composite structure comprising a metal core (3) and a ceramic layer (4) around the outside. Play is present between the core mantle surface and the inner side of the ceramic layer. A lance for injecting gases during a combustion process contains a gas flow channel (2) and has a composite structure comprising a metal core and a ceramic layer around the outside of the core. The mantle surface of the core comprises a lower diameter region (6) surrounded by larger diameter regions (7, 9). Play is present between the core mantle surface and the inner side of the ceramic layer in order to prevent the latter cracking as a result of expansion differences between the core and this layer following changes in temperature. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for producing the lance by securing the ceramic layer around the core.
