Abstract
Turbocharger acceleration and/or turbocharger rotation speed are monitored and the exhaust gas brake valve (11) is closed in order to reduce turbocharger rotation speed. The acceleration is greater than or equal to a first threshold and the rotation speed is greater than or equal to a second threshold. - Independent claims are also included for the following: - (A) Overspeeding protection system for a turbocharger (2), comprising a turbocharger rotation speed measuring sensor (13) connected to a control unit (12) which calculates turbocharger acceleration; and - (B) Computer for carrying out this method, which is in contact with the rotation speed sensor and exhaust brake.
