Abstract

A plate (3) for tramping on and also for supporting the device in the ground is attached to a lever arm (6). A root spade (1) is connected to the arm using a conventional tool mounting (2) to enable the spade to be replaced. V-shaped grooves (4, 5) are provided in the plate periphery and free end of the spade. The opposite end of the arm to the spade is curved through ca. 180 deg. in the opposite direction to which the arm is pivoted in order to remove the weed.
