Abstract

The method involves placing a body in a counter die in which an inner wall encloses a part of the body. A mandrel (9) is applied to another end surface of the body, where the mandrel has a central guide pin for interacting with a hole of the body so that the body is centered to the mandrel. A pressing force is applied to the mandrel so that the body is cold flow pressed into a cup by plastic deformation. An Independent claim is also included for a process of manufacture of a shell, preferably a grenade/cartridge shell.
