Abstract

A power quality system (10) has a gas turbine unit (20) with at least one turbine stage. The gas turbine unit comprises a first gas turbine shaft (30), a first compressor stage (40), a first turbine stage (50), a first generator/motor (60), and at least one first combustion chamber (70). A flywheel (130) is rotatably and detachably connected to the gas turbine shaft (30) by means of a coupling (240). Moreover, the flywheel (130) is adapted to be rotated by drive means (100) operatively connected by means of at least one energy link (110, 120, 140, 220) to the gas turbine unit (20).
