Abstract

A gas turbine unit (10) has a shield device (20) for connecting a turbine housing (30) with a compressor housing (40). The shield device supports and centers the turbine housing and forms a heat and/or pressure barrier between the turbine housing and the compressor housing. The shield device (20) is an essentially rotary symmetrical hollow element attached with a first end (20') to the turbine housing (30) by supports (30') being symmetrically distributed around a front surface on the turbine housing. The supports (30') protrude past the first end (20') of the shield device (20) in the axial direction of the shield device and are in the vicinity of the inner and/or the outer surface of the shield device.
