Abstract
A first film (32, 34) is laminated to a first glass pane (31, 35) on one side and a second glass pane (33) and a fastener body (38) are laminated on the other side, then a second film is laminated to the fastener body and the opposite side of the second pane to the first film. A method for making a glass support comprises: (a) applying a first laminated film to one side of a first glass pane; (b) applying a second glass pane to the opposite side of the first film to the first glass pane, leaving at least part of the first glass pane with the first film on top of it free, this free area adjoining an edge of the first glass pane; (c) applying at least one fastener body having essentially the same height and thickness as the second glass pane to the free area of the first glass pane; (d) rolling the combination of the two glass panes, film and fastener body to remove air; (e) applying a second laminated film to the fastener body and the opposite side of the second glass pane to the first film; (f) rolling the combination of the two glass panes, two films and fastener body to remove air; and (g) pressing the glass panes, films and fastener body together so that are bonded to form a glass support. An Independent claim is also included for a glass support made using this method.
