Abstract

A process for flash chromatographic separation and a chromatographic device are described, wherein a sample is added to a chromatographic column followed by an eluent, optionally first wetting the column with the eluent, the column being packed with a chromatographic material and in its lower end being connected to one end of a tubing, wherein at least one part of the tubing has the ability to be positioned at or above the eluent surface in the column, wherein the chromatography is initiated by lowering said parts of the tubing to a position below the eluent surface in the column, or vice versa, wherein the outlet in the other end of the tubing is placed at a position below the lower end of the column during the chromatography.
