Abstract

The method and heat pump are for transfer of heat energy from a first fluid to a second fluid and use at least part of the expanded cold medium for super-cooling of the condensed cold medium. The heat pump (100) has a compressor (18) which compresses an evaporated cold medium and a condenser (20) which receives the compressed cold medium and with heat transfer to a second fluid condenses the cold medium. The heat pump also has a super-cooling component (50) which receives the condensed cold medium and super-cools it. An expansion component (66) receives the super-cooled cold medium and expands it. An evaporator (74) receives a first fluid and recovers heat from it. The super-cooling component receives a part flow (d1) of the super-cooled, expanded cold medium and uses it for super-cooling the condensed cold medium. The evaporator receives a second part flow (62) of the super-cooled, expanded cold medium and uses it for recovery of heat from the first fluid.
