Abstract

The cleaning device (10) is mounted on the front loader (18) of a tractor via a quick-fit coupling (20) and used to clean the rails (21), grooves in the rails and flat surfaces in track joint regions. A combination of a blade (13) and rotating brushes (14) driven by a hydraulic motor (15) and/or a rotating cutting blade also driven by a hydraulic motor are used to clean the grooves over the width of the rail. The flat surfaces in the the track joint regions are cleaned using a ploughblade (19) which is swung downwards into position by a hydraulic cylinder. All the hydraulic devices are coupled to the tractors hydraulic systems.
