Abstract
The present invention relates to a contact device (20) for contact of an optical fibre with another optical fibre in another contact device (21), said contact devices being mutually identical and including contact device fastening means. This is achieved by providing the contact devices with locking shoulders (14, 15) that have gripping surfaces (17), and with a guide sleeve (10) and an external thread (19). When the contact devices are connected together, the guide sleeve (10) co-acts with ferrules (7, 24) enclosing the ends of said optical fibres for contact with one another.
