Abstract
The armored vehicle is capable of handling a range of different kinetic energy projectile and RSV radiation units and uses electro-magnetic armoring comprising two conductive parallel plates (2,3) with an intermediate space (8). The front and inner plate are connected to a voltage source, e.g. a capacitor (8). When a projectile penetrates both plates, the electrical circuit (7) is closed. A high current (1) passes through the projectile and produces a magnetic-mechanical instability, which leads to a puckering (10) of the projectile.
