Abstract

The invention relates to a means (1, 1') of unwinding at least one cable (4), wire, line or the like rolled up into a coil (2), comprising a mounted support element (6) which is designed to support the coil (2) of cable (4). An axis of rotation (16) of the support element (6) extends substantially vertically and the support element (6) is designed such that the centre axis (22) of the coil (2), during unwinding of the cable (4), substantially coincides with the axis of rotation (16) of the support element (6). The invention also relates to a method of using such a means (1, 1') to unwind at least one cable (4), wire, line or the like rolled up into a coil.
