Abstract
Provided are a water treatment system and a water treatment method that are capable of reducing the amount of antibacterial agent added in a water treatment using two or more stages of reverse osmosis membranes. In a water treatment system 1 for performing two or more stages of reverse osmosis membrane treatment using at least a first stage first reverse osmosis membrane device 12, and a second stage second reverse osmosis membrane device 14 for treating a permeate of the first reverse osmosis membrane device 12, the water treatment system and the water treatment method use a concentrate of the second stage second reverse osmosis membrane device 14 by circulating the concentrate to a supply water of the first stage first reverse osmosis membrane device 12, and add an antimicrobial agent having a rejection rate by a reverse osmosis membrane of at least 70% to a supply water of the second reverse osmosis membrane device 14.
