Description

The utility model relates to the field of electrical engineering and can be used in temporary power supply networks, for example, for connecting electrical household appliances.

A known extension cord (RF patent No. 44435, IPC Н03Н 7/24, publ. March 10, 2005) containing a housing with three output sockets for plugs of domestic and European standards, a wire connected to the housing, equipped with a plug. The extension cord contacts are made using bronze, and the inserts are made of refractory non-combustible plastic. The extension housing is equipped with a circuit breaker or circuit breaker. The extension casing may have a configuration in the form of two or more ovals interconnected with a diagonal slope in any direction or a rectangle with an additional area for a short circuit protection circuit breaker or switch. The vertical side of the switch is truncated at an angle with a smoothly rounded corner.

The extension cord described above is inconvenient for use in rooms with insufficient lighting, as the extension casing is not equipped with a backlight, which makes it difficult for the plug to quickly enter the holes of the housing socket.

The utility model solves the problem of improving the ergonomic characteristics of the extension cord by increasing the convenience of its use in rooms with insufficient lighting due to equipping the extension casing with additional illumination.

To solve the problem in a known extension cord containing a housing with output sockets for plugs and a switch, a wire connected to the housing and equipped with a plug, it is proposed that the extension housing be made with translucent inserts and equipped with additional illumination in the form of miniature light sources located in the housing and connected to the output sockets of the extension cord, and connect one miniature light source directly to the wire with a plug. The upper part of the body may be translucent.

The extension housing 1 can be made with translucent inserts 8 of, for example, plastic at the locations of the miniature light sources 5, or the upper part of the housing can be made of translucent material. As miniature light sources 5, it is possible to use, for example, neon bulbs in typical switching on or correspondingly turned on LEDs.

Extension cord operation.

When the plug 3 is turned on, the voltage is supplied to the miniature lamp 7 of the backlight of the switch 6 located next to it and, at the same time, to the switch 6. The lamp 7 signals the supply of voltage to the switch 6 of the extension cord. When the switch 6 is turned on, miniature light sources 5 located in the extension housing 1 simultaneously light up, for example, neon bulbs that illuminate the output sockets 4 on the extension housing 1, thanks to the inserts 8 made of translucent material. Thus, with insufficient lighting in the room, the quick contact of the plug of the household appliance in the outlet openings of the socket 4 of the housing 1 is facilitated.

The entire upper part of the housing 1 can be made of translucent material, i.e. the area of the insert may be equal to the area of the upper part of the housing 1.
