The shoulder is located at the same level with the cathode lower edge. The cathode lower edge is positioned above the lower edge of the casing by 0.1 to 0.15 of its height; the cathode upper edge is positioned below the upper edge of the casing by 0.1 to 0.15 of its height. The anode area makes up 1.1 to 1.2 of the cathode area, and the anode thickness is 0.2 to 0.4 of the gap between the cathodes; the volume of the electrolyte chamber is determined by the following expression: V= K A M/m N, where: V = volume of electrolyte chamber, cu.cm; K = 1.1-1.2, design coefficient; A=10-15, experimental coefficient, cu.cm/Ah; M = anode mass, g; m = 0.4-0.8. specific consumption of anode material, g/Ah; N = number of cycles.
