Abstract

FIELD: automotive industry; cross-country automobiles. SUBSTANCE: independent suspension 1 of shells for cross-country automobiles has upper and lower arms 2,3 movably connected by one end with automobile body C by means of pins X,Xl which are parallel to each other and to automobile centreline. Suspension has also wheel support 4 movably connected with other ends of levers by pins y, yl which are parallel to other pins, and two telescopic struts (spring/shock absorber) 5,6 movably connected by ends with automobile body C and with upper arm 2 by means of pins Z,Zl parallel to other pins X, Xl, Y, Yl so that struts can turn around axes of corresponding pins Z,Zl at contact and extension caused by rocking of arms 2,3, with lower ends executing cross arc movements relative to axis of pin Z in upper end of struts. Capability of struts 5,6 to turn on two pins Z,Zl at compression and extension provides progressive loading and unloading and, consequently, ensures softness of run. EFFECT: enhanced running comfort. 2 dwg

Claims (1)

The independent wheel suspension (1) for cross-country vehicles has upper and lower levers (2 and 3), movably connected at one end to the car body C by corresponding pins X and XI, which are parallel to each other and the longitudinal axis of the car, wheel support (4), which is movably connected to the other ends of the levers with the corresponding pins V and VI, parallel to the other pins, and two telescopic spring / shock absorbers (5 and 6), movably connected at their ends to the car body C and to the upper arm (2) located between among them, by means of respective pins Z and Z 1, parallel pins X, XI, V, VI, so that the rack can be rotated around the axes of the corresponding pins Z and Z 1 when the reduction and elongation of the arms swing (2 and 3), this lower ends make a transverse arcuate motion relative to the axis of the pin Z in the upper end of the uprights. The ability of the uprights (5 and 6) to rotate on two pins Z and Z 1 during compression and tension leads to their progressive loading and unloading and, ultimately, to the smooth running of the car.
