Abstract
FIELD: measurement technology, underwater acoustics, hydrophysics. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to control profile of speed of sea current. Essence of invention lies in placement of fibre-optical meter manufactured in the form of interferometer in examined area of ocean. Parts of fibres of object coil are attached to internal surfaces of hollow piezoelectric cylinders to which different carrier frequencies are supplied from generators of electric oscillations. Reference coil is positioned inside typical cylinder which can be located outside of current. Piezoelectric cylinders are fixed at known distance from each other in examined flow of liquid. Modulated signals appear across output of photodetector of fibre-optical meter on various carrier frequencies which are amplified and filtered by series of band-pass filters. Then signals are detected, processed and fed into register which plots fields of speeds of flow of liquid. EFFECT: enhanced functional reliability of fibre-optical meter. 2 cl, 3 dwg
