Abstract

FIELD: waste water purification. SUBSTANCE: cationic flocculant designed for multiply increasing efficiency of removing from waste water suspended substances, anionic surfactants, petroleum derivatives, and other organic impurities, as well as for using in processes of mechanical dehydration of sediments includes alkylation with halogen-organic compounds and polymerization of 2-methyl-2-vinylpyridine. Method is distinguished with that, water-emulsion polymerization of 2-methyl-2- vinylpyridine is first performed and resultant latex with molecular weight 100-300 thousand Dalton is then treated with stoichiometric quantity of benzyl chloride in presence of stabilizing additive. As the latter, polymer quaternary ammonium base is used in amount 6-8 weight parts per 100 weight parts of latex polymer, and the process is carried out at 45-65 C. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of process.

45 - 65oC.The invention relates to a technology for producing a cationic flocculant intended to repeatedly increase the efficiency of wastewater treatment from suspended solids, anionic surfactants, oil products and other organic contaminants, as well as for use in mechanical dewatering of sediments. A method for producing a cationic flocculant, including alkylation with organohalogen compounds and the polymerization of 2-methyl-5-vinylpyridine, first provides for water-emulsion polymerization of 2-methyl-5-vinylpyridine, then the resulting latex is mol.m. 100 to 300 thousand atomic units are treated with benzyl chloride, the polymer reaction is carried out with a stoichiometric amount of benzyl chloride in the presence of a stabilizing additive, which is used as a polymer quaternary ammonium base in an amount of 6 to 8 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight latex polymer, the process is carried out at 45 - 65 o C.
