Abstract

FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves melting burden; increasing intensity of current directed through melt in horizontal and vertical planes, as melt is accumulated, and increasing intensity and direction of currents in current supplies positioned below melt. Current supplies are mounted below furnace bottom, with number of supplies being in accordance with number of units for controlling current of power source. Current supplies are positioned at an angle one with respect to the other in horizontal plane and connected to bottom electrodes and control units through commutation devices. EFFECT: increased efficiency, reduced power consumption, improved quality of mixed melt.

Claims (1)

The purpose of the invention is to increase the productivity of the furnace with reduced active power during all periods of melting, reducing the specific energy consumption, improving the quality of the melt remeasurement. This goal is achieved by the fact that in the method of electric melting in the process of melting the mixture, as the melt accumulates, the strength of the current flowing through the melt in the horizontal and vertical direction, as well as the strength and direction of the currents in the current leads located under the melt, are increased. The circuit is also achieved by the fact that under the hearth of the furnace, according to the number of power supply current control units, there are current leads, oriented at an angle to each other in a horizontal plane and connected to the hearth electrodes and current control units via switching devices.
