Abstract

FIELD: applications for fluorinated carbon compounds. SUBSTANCE: composition contains 5-45 wt % pentafluoroethane and 55-95 wt % 1,1,1-trifluoroethane and its boiling point is -16.9 C at 351.6 kPa (about 51 in/sq.lb) pressure. Composition is applicable as cooling agent, air sol fuel, heat-transfer agent, gaseous dielectric, burning retardant, foaming agent for polyolefins and polyurethanes, and as working liquid for power cycles. EFFECT: new polyfunctional composition proposed.
