FIELD: hydrogen sulfide reprocessing equipment and processes. SUBSTANCE: method involves heating basic mixture of acid gases and exposing to directed electromagnetic microwave radiation, with electromagnetic field being formed so that vector pattern of electromagnetic field coincides with basic mixture flow vector; effectuating phase separation of dissociation products and discharging them from reaction zone 5 by changing basic mixture and dissociation product flow direction at outlet end of reaction zone. Reactor for conducting radical-chain non-branching hydrogen sulfide decomposition reaction has casing 1 with basic mixture supply chambers 2, heating chamber 10, gaseous product discharge chamber 13, elementary sulfur collecting and cooling chamber 21 and microwave radiation absorption chamber 18. EFFECT: increased efficiency in producing sulfur and hydrogen and simplified construction of apparatus. 9 cl, 2 dwg
