Abstract

FIELD: sugar industry. SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed at processing molasses into sugar, betaine, and glutamic acid. Molasses solution is passed successively through sulfonic-acid styrene-divinylbenzene gel cationite in Caform, then through sulfonic-acid styrene- divinylbenzene porous cationite in Caform, and finally through highly basic anionite in OHform. Porous cationite is eluted with water to give betaine fraction. Anionite is eluted with alkali solution to give sodium glutamate-containing fraction. Sugar fraction refined on anionite is carbonized and precipitate is separated. Gel cationite is regenerated with calcium-containing solution. Process is conducted in continuous mode. EFFECT: improved prices conditions. 8 cl

The invention relates to an ion-exchange method for processing molasses into sugar, betaine and glutamic acid. The molasses solution is passed sequentially through a sulfonic acid styrene divinylbenzene gel cation exchange resin in a Ca 2+ form, then through a sulfonic acid styrene divinylbenzene porous cation exchange resin in a Ca 2+ form, and then through a highly basic anion exchange resin in an OH - form. Porous cation exchange resin is eluted with water, releasing the betaine fraction. The anion exchange resin is eluted with an alkaline solution to obtain a fraction containing sodium glutamate. After purification on the anion exchange resin, the sugar fraction is carbonized, separating the precipitate. The gel cation exchanger is regenerated with a calcium-containing solution. The process is implemented in continuous mode.
