Abstract

FIELD: biosensors for metal ions. SUBSTANCE: biosensor is composed of (i) a biochemical substance capable to launch, in presence of metal ions, a chemical reaction and (ii) a transformer capable to recognize transformed output agent created directly or indirectly in reaction launched by the above said biochemical substance. Invention consists in that the biochemical substance contains enzyme manifesting reductase activity towards metal to be determined. Metal ions may be selected from the group containing Hg, Cr, As, Tc, Cu, Ag, Au, Se, V, Mo, and U ions. Reductase may be used with coenzymes in a biochemical reaction chain, for example, coenzyme NADP and light-emitting luciferase. EFFECT: simplified analytical procedure.

Claims (1)

A biosensor consists of a biochemical capable of causing a chemical reaction in the presence of metal ions, and a transducer capable of detecting a convertible output agent produced directly or indirectly by a reaction caused by a biochemical in the presence of metal ions, characterized in that the biochemical contains an enzyme that is a reductase for the metal being detected . These metal ions may be selected from the group consisting of mercury, chromium, arsenic, technetium, copper, silver, gold, selenium, vanadium, molybdenum and uranium ions. Reductase can be used with coenzymes in the biochemical chain of a reaction, for example, coenzyme Nicotinamide NADPH and light-emitting coenzyme luciferase.
