Abstract

FIELD: production of sorbents. SUBSTANCE: sorbents used for analytical and medical purposes, for fine cleaning of solutions, extraction of metals from industrial and household wastes, sea water, etc. are prepared through electrochemical precipitation of titanium or zirconium hydroxide onto porous carbon material from solution containing titanium or zirconium salt with metal concentration 100-5000 mg/l in 0.1 M solution of sulfuric acid and/or magnesium sulfate or sodium chloride. In this case, carbon material is charged to potential values distanced from stationary dipping potentials by -0.1 to -0.9 V with velocity 0.04- 0.1 mV/s and maintained at reached potential during 1-4 h. In a particular case, precipitation of titanium hydroxide is conducted in presence of hydrogen peroxide. EFFECT: enabled controlling precipitation process in electrode layer and thereby controlling uniform precipitation of hydroxide film on carrier surface. 4 cl, 1 tbl, 14 ex

Claims (1)

Usage: to obtain sorbents used for analytical and medical purposes, for deep purification of solutions, extraction of metals from industrial and domestic wastewater, sea water, etc. The inventive sorbent is obtained by electrochemical deposition of titanium or zirconium hydroxide on porous carbon material from a solution containing a titanium or zirconium salt with a metal concentration of 100-5000 mg / l in a 0.1 M solution of electrolyte K 2 SO 4 and / or MgSO 4 or NaCl. In this case, the carbon material is charged to potential values that are separated from the stationary immersion potentials by (-0.1) - (-0.9) in at a rate of 0.04 - 0.1 mV / s and can withstand the potential value reached in this interval within 1 to 4 hours. In the particular case, the precipitation of titanium hydroxide is carried out in the presence of hydrogen peroxide. The method allows you to control the deposition process in the near-electrode layer and thus regulate the uniform deposition of a hydroxide film on the surface of the carrier.
