Изобретение относится к области переработки и утилизации отходов бытовых и /или/ промышленных, предпочтительно, включающих отходы углеродсодержащих материалов. Технический результат выражается в исключении необходимости дополнительных операций по захоронению отходов газификации, повышении термической стойкости газогенератора, упрощении работ по монтажу /демонтажу/ рабочего комплекса, обеспечивающего функционирование утилизационной установки, уменьшении потребных площадей для монтажа такой установки. Сущность: газогенератор формируют в массиве твердого углеродсодержашего полезного ископаемого путем частичного выгазовывания массива с формированием подземной полости, в которую затем подают отходы, подлежащие газификации, и дутья, а отводят газообразные продукты газификации.
