Заточка может быть выполнена двусторонней с образованием режущей кромки, лежащей на поперечной оси клинка, и начинаться от его нродольной оси. Заточка может быть выполнена с одной стороны с образованием режзгщей кромки, лежащей в одной плоскости с одной из сторон клинка и начинаться от его продольной оси.
