Abstract
Description
The invention relates to paste compositions for metallization of ceramic products and can be used in the electronic and electrical industries in the manufacture of ceramic-metal joints.
Н05В 3/10, 24.11.1992].Known compositions for metallization of ceramic materials based on refractory metals (molybdenum or tungsten) with the addition of 10-20% metallic manganese. To increase the adhesion strength of the coating to ceramics, various additives are introduced into the composition for metallization of ceramic products, in particular, glass, glaze [see. auto sv. No. 1591421, IPC S04V 41/88, application. 06/01/1987, publ. 07/30/1994] or silicon oxide [see. US patent 5165983, cl. Н05В 3/10, 11/24/1992].
This composition makes it possible to obtain metallized products only from aluminum nitride ceramics, suitable for soldering in hydrogen. However, this composition is not suitable for metallization of ceramics based on aluminum oxide. In addition, the disadvantage of the known composition is the unsatisfactory adhesion strength of the coating to the ceramic surface. This is especially noticeable at the lowest temperature range for burning metallization compositions. An increase in the firing temperature in the case of metallization of aluminum oxide ceramics leads to its recrystallization, and, consequently, to a decrease in mechanical strength.
Known compositions intended for the production of metal-ceramic assemblies do not provide satisfactory quality coatings on aluminum oxide (corundum) and aluminum nitride ceramics.
The closest technical solution (prototype) is a composition for metallization of products made of high-alumina ceramics [see. and. "Problems of radio electronics", ser. IV, No. 6, 1960, pp. 74-85], including Mo - 75.0%, Mn - 20.0% and Si - 5.0%. This composition containing Si makes it possible to obtain non-porous metallization coatings on ceramics.
However, the adhesion of the coating of the specified composition for metallization and the strength of the metal-ceramic weld, determined by the formation of aluminum-manganese spinel, as a result of the interaction of ceramic corundum with manganese from the metallization composition, is low.
The objective of the present invention is to increase the adhesion of the metallization coating on aluminum oxide (corundum) ceramics and the mechanical strength of the joint when soldering with both copper and silver-containing solder.
TiH2.To increase the adhesion strength of the metallization composition with ceramics and the mechanical strength of the joint, the proposed metallization composition containing refractory Mo, manganese Mn and silicon Si additionally contains zirconium oxide ZrO 2 , tantalum pentoxide Ta 2 O 5 , molybdenum oxide MoO 3 and hydride titanium TiH 2 .
Технический результат достигается благодаря тому, что состав на основе молибдена, марганца и кремния содержит дополнительно оксид циркония, пентаоксид тантала, оксид молибдена и гидрид титана при следующем соотношении компонентов, мас.%:The technical result is achieved due to the fact that the composition based on molybdenum, manganese and silicon additionally contains zirconium oxide, tantalum pentoxide, molybdenum oxide and titanium hydride in the following ratio of components, wt.%:
When the components of the metallization composition interact with the ceramic material, the process of isomorphic substitution of ions occurs simultaneously with the formation of chemical compounds. Isovalent isomorphic substitutions are most easily carried out when the substituting ion has the same coordination number as the one being replaced.
На основе этого механизма взаимодействия для улучшения качества металлокерамических спаев в случае алюмооксидной керамики целесообразно введение в металлизационный состав гидрида титана в количестве 4,0-5,0 мас.%, пентаоксида тантала 4,0-5,0 мас.%, оксида молибдена 2,4-3,0 мас.% и оксида циркония 4,0-5,0 мас.%.In accordance with the isomorphic series of Fersman A.E. most likely isomorphic replacement of the Al +3 ion by Ti, Zr and Ta ions. The isomorphic replacement of Al +3 ions from ceramics with Ti, Zr and Ta ions from the metallizing coating helps to increase the adhesion, strength and heat resistance of the metal-ceramic junction. Based on this interaction mechanism, to improve the quality of metal-ceramic junctions in the case of aluminum oxide ceramics, it is advisable to introduce titanium hydride in the amount of 4.0-5.0 wt.%, tantalum pentoxide 4.0-5.0 wt.%, molybdenum oxide 2 into the metallization composition ,4-3.0 wt.% and zirconium oxide 4.0-5.0 wt.%.
A composition based on refractory metals for metallization of ceramics, which provides increased adhesion of metallization to ceramics and allows high-temperature soldering of metallized ceramics in a hydrogen environment, was obtained by introducing new components in the stated ratios into the paste containing molybdenum, manganese and silicon. A hydrogen-resistant transition layer between the ceramics and the electrically conductive metallization layer with increased adhesion of the metallization to the ceramics is ensured due to the complex interaction of molybdenum, manganese, silicon and the constituents of titanium hydride, tantalum pentoxide and molybdenum oxide.
The implementation of the proposed ceramic metallization composition is confirmed by an example.
8420-74.The paste was prepared by mixing powders from materials with the compositions given in Table 1. Initially, after weighing all components, the metallization composition was ground in roller mills. Then the metallization composition was mixed with a binder, which was used as a solution of the following composition: ethylcellulose - 1.0 g; terpineol - 16.2 g; oleic acid - 0.8 g; dibutyl phthalate - 2.0 g per 100 g of paste powder. Then, the powder components of the paste composition were added to 30% of the prepared binder and mixed for 64 hours until the required paste viscosity of 710 poise was achieved. The viscosity of the pastes was controlled in accordance with the requirements of GOST 8420-74.
1).Pastes for metallization were prepared at the extreme quantitative values of the components specified in the claims (Table 1).
The proposed paste was used for metallization of VK95-1 ceramics. Parts in the form of rings were used as blanks for subsequent application of the ceramic metallization composition. The rings were first ground and then, to ensure adhesion of the metallization paste, they underwent heat treatment in air at a temperature of 800-1000°C to fill microcracks in the damaged surface layer of ceramic with glass from the bulk of the ceramic. Then the prepared pastes for metallization were applied to rings made of VK95-1 ceramics on an AUREL C900-PA screen printing installation, and with a viscosity of 710 poise, the topological pattern applied through a mesh screen with a mesh density of 325 mesh had clear boundaries. Next, combustion was carried out in a hydrogen furnace in a humidified atmosphere with a dew point temperature of +25°C, in a mixture of nitrogen and hydrogen gases at a ratio of 2:1 and at a temperature of 1320-1340°C for 30 minutes. After that, nickel with a thickness of 3 microns was applied to the metallized surfaces by the galvanic method and then the rings with a Kovar flange were soldered with copper solder in a hydrogen furnace at a temperature of 1100°C, and with silver-containing solder PSR-72-28 at a temperature of 870°C in a vacuum 7*10 - 5 torr.
Было изготовлено по 10 образцов колец, покрытых составами №№1-4, из которых по 5 образцов паялись медным припоем и по 5 образцов - серебросодержащим припоем ПСр-72-28.10 samples of rings coated with compositions Nos. 1-4 were made, of which 5 samples were soldered with copper solder and 5 samples with silver-containing solder PSr-72-28.
2.Adhesion measurements of the soldered nickel lead to the substrates were carried out using an Instron 3366L4610 tensile testing machine with a measurement accuracy of 1%. The results of adhesion measurements for 5 samples are presented in table. 2.
30%.The adhesion of paste based on Mo-Mn-Si-ZrO 2 -Ta 2 O 5 -MoO 3 -TiH 2 compared to paste of the Mo-Mn-Si composition when soldering with copper solder is more than 30% higher.
40%.The adhesion of paste based on Mo-Mn-Si-ZrO 2 -Ta 2 O 5 -MoO 3 -TiH 2 compared to paste of Mo-Mn-Si composition when soldering with PSR-72-28 solder is more than 40% higher.
Thus, in a comparative test of coatings obtained using the proposed composition of the metallization paste, in comparison with a coating of a known paste composition, it was established that the proposed composition, after being burned into aluminum oxide ceramics, forms a metallization layer that has higher adhesion to the surface of the ceramic.
