Garlic powder has bactericidal, antiviral, fungicidal effects associated with phytoncides and alliin glycoside. Garlic is effective against pathogens of intestinal infections (dysentery, typhoid, pathogenic enterococci, Escherichia coli with altered enzymatic properties), staphylococci, alpha-hemolytic streptococci. Glycoside alliin under the influence of the enzyme allinase is converted into allicin, which has antimicrobial activity. Garlic is eubiotic, thanks to vitamins C, B, D, PP, it contributes to the normalization of automicroflora functions. It improves digestion, enhances the formation and secretion of bile, lowers cholesterol and sugar in the blood, has a beneficial effect on metabolism, especially in patients with diabetes and obesity. Thanks to organic acids, vitamins, macro- and microelements (especially magnesium, potassium, selenium, zinc, manganese), it stimulates hematopoiesis, exhibits antihypoxic and angioprotective effects. The antihelminthic effect is manifested in ascariasis and enterobiasis. Thus, the use of garlic powder is effective for the treatment of chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, dysbacteriosis and intestinal atony, and contributes to the normalization of microflora and the immune system.
