Abstract

FIELD: furniture industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the furniture industry, namely to a fastening unit of upholstery material (5) to a metal frame (1) of upholstered furniture. The invention can be used for fixing a covering made of furniture fabric or leather on the frame of a sofa or armchair. The unit includes a tubular profile (2) of the frame, having a main part (7) of a rectangular cross-section and a flat protruding part (8) and an upholstery fastening element (6), which is made of sheet polymer material and includes a bent part (9) made with the possibility of engagement with the protruding part (8) of the frame element, and a flat part (10) adapted to be attached to the upholstery (5). In the tubular profile, the protruding part (8) is formed by two parallel sections of the pipe wall, one of which is a continuation of the side of the main part (7). In this case, the flat part (10) of the fastening element (6) is made of a softer polymer material in relation to the material of the bent part (9).

EFFECT: simplification of the furniture production process, including both the production and assembly of a metal frame, as well as the fastening of fabric upholstery to it.

Description

[01] Field of technology

[02] The invention relates to the furniture industry, namely to the attachment of upholstery material to the metal frame of upholstered furniture. The invention can be used for fixing a covering made of furniture fabric or leather on the frame of a sofa or armchair.

[03] State of the art

[04] The closest analogue of the invention is the assembly for fastening the fabric upholstery cover to the furniture frame, disclosed in the RF utility model patent RU 202033, 07/28/2020. Said assembly includes a frame element having a main part with a rectangular section and a protruding part in the form of a steel strip welded to the main part, as well as an element for attaching fabric upholstery to the profile, having a bent part that engages with the protruding part of the profile, and a flat part, which connects to the edge of the fabric cover. The fixing element is made of PVC.

[05] The main disadvantage of the analogue is the complexity of furniture production. So, to ensure the connection of the frame parts, it is necessary to weld a plate to the frame element to engage the fastening elements. In addition, the use of fasteners, entirely made of one material, creates difficulties in assembly. If the fixing material is soft enough, this can lead to deformation and the element jumping off the profile when tension is applied. If the fastening material is rigid, it becomes difficult to break through to attach the upholstery to it.

[06] Disclosure of the Invention

[07] The main technical problem to be solved by the claimed invention is the complexity of the process of manufacturing furniture with a metal frame.

[08] The technical result of the invention is the simplification of the furniture production process, including both the production and assembly of a metal frame, and the attachment of fabric upholstery to it, while maintaining the functionality of the attachment unit.

[09] The specified technical result is achieved in the claimed invention due to the fact that the fastening unit of the flexible upholstery material to the metal frame of the furniture includes a frame element having a main part with a rectangular cross-sectional shape and a flat protruding part, and an upholstery fastening element, which is made of sheet polymeric material and includes a bent part, made with the possibility of engagement with the protruding part of the frame element and a flat part, made with the possibility of fastening to the upholstery material. Moreover, the frame element is made in the form of a tubular profile, in which the protruding part is formed by two parallel sections of the pipe wall, one of which is a continuation of the side of the main part of the profile. In this case, the flat part of the fastening element is made of a softer polymer material in relation to the material of the bent part.

[010] In addition, to achieve the technical result, private options for implementing the node are provided, according to which:

[011] - the folded part of the fastening element is formed by the folded edge of the sheet material, which runs parallel to the main part with the formation of a gap;

[012] - the flat part of the fastening element is made with the possibility of fastening to the upholstery material by means of staples or rivets or seams.

[013] - the bent part of the fastening element is made of suspension polyvinyl chloride, and its flat part is made of polyvinyl chloride plastic compound;

[014] - in the protruding part of the tubular profile, the wall sections are closed;

[015] - in the protruding part of the tubular profile, the wall sections are placed with a gap.

[016] Unlike analogs, in the invention, a tubular profile (pipe with a closed wall) with a special cross-sectional shape is used as a frame element. In said profile, the protruding part is a continuation of the side of the main tubular part and is formed by parallel sections of the wall, which are brought together to form a flat part. A profile of such a section can be produced at a metallurgical (pipe) enterprise, which eliminates the need to weld the plate to the pipe or make other elements (hooks, holes, etc.) to engage the upholstery at a furniture enterprise in the production of furniture. In addition, the invention uses a fastening element made of two different materials, in which the bent part (for hooking on the profile) is made harder, and the flat part (for attaching to the fabric upholstery) is softer. This allows, on the one hand, to preserve the functionality (rigidity) of the fastening element, and on the other hand, to facilitate the connection of the fastening element with the upholstery, since it is much easier to break through the soft polymer material.

[017] Thus, the invention allows to simplify the production of furniture, while maintaining the reliability of the attachment.

[021] the Implementation of the invention

[022] Furniture using the claimed invention includes a metal frame (1) having tubular profiles (2) (tubular elements), lamellas (3) installed in the frame, soft elements (4) placed on the frame, and upholstery material (5) stretched over soft elements.

[023] The claimed upholstery fastening unit (5) is formed by a tubular profile (2) (Fig. 4, 5) and fastening elements (6) placed on it (Fig. 6, 7).

[024] The tubular profile (2) has a closed configuration of a complex shape and consists of a main part (7), which in cross section has the shape of a rectangle, in particular a square, as well as a flat protruding part (8), which is formed by two parallel sections of the wall of a closed contour, one of which is a continuation of the side of the main part (7). In other words, the cross-sectional profile has a hollow area (main part 7) which merges into a flat area (raised part 8). In this case, the wall sections of the protruding part (8) can be made closed (contact with each other) or can be placed with a small gap. The protruding part (8) of the profile (2) is preferably directed inward along the plane of the frame (1) (see Fig. 3). Conventional manufacturing methods such as rolling, pressing or casting can be used to produce a tubular profile of complex shape.

[025] The attachment element (6) of the upholstery material (5) is made of a single polymer sheet and is formed by a bent part (9) that passes into a flat part (10). The bent (9) (hook-shaped) part is formed by the bent edge of the sheet material, which runs parallel to the main part with the formation of a gap in which the protruding part (8) of the profile (2) is located. The bent part (9) of the sheet is made of a rigid polymeric material, which has the ability to retain its shape when the fastening element (6) is loaded. For example, suspension polyvinyl chloride brand SI-67 can be used. The flat part (10) of the sheet of the element (6) is used for fastening to the upholstery material (5) and is made of a polymer material that is softer in relation to the part (9). For example, a rubber-like material can be used, in particular polyvinylchloride compound grade Sh-62-0. Seam, rivets, staples and other elements can be used to fasten the upholstery. The fastening element (6) can be made by joint casting of two different polymer materials, in which parts (9) and (10) are combined with each other to form a single sheet.

[026] Assembly of furniture is carried out as follows.

[027] A metal frame (1) is assembled from pre-formed profiles (2) and other elements, into which lamellas (3) are installed. Soft elements (4) are laid on the resulting substrate and the structure is covered with a flexible upholstery material (5), for example, fabric, artificial or natural leather. The edges of the upholstery (5) are attached to the flat part (10) of the fasteners (6). The bent part (9) of the elements (6) is hooked to the protruding part (8) of the profile (2) along the perimeter of the frame from the inside (see Fig. 3). In this case, the fasteners (6) are held by the tension of the upholstery (6).

Claims (10)

1. Assembly for attaching flexible upholstery material (5) to a metal frame (1) of upholstered furniture, including: - a frame element having a main body (7) with a rectangular cross-sectional shape and a flat projecting part (8), and - fastening element (6) of the upholstery material, which is made of sheet polymeric material and includes a bent part (9) made with the possibility of engagement with the protruding part (8) of the frame element, and a flat part (10) made with the possibility of fastening to the upholstery material (5), characterized in that the frame element is made in the form of a tubular profile (2), in which the flat protruding part (8) is formed by two parallel sections of the wall, one of which is a continuation of the side of the main part (7) of the profile, while the flat part (10) of the fastening element (6) is made of a softer polymer material in relation to the polymer material of the bent part (9). 2. Assembly according to claim 1, characterized in that the bent part (9) of the fastening element (6) is formed by a bent edge of the sheet material, which runs parallel to the main part to form a gap. 3. The node according to claim 1, characterized in that the flat part (10) of the fastening element (6) is made with the possibility of fastening to the upholstery material (5) by means of staples, or rivets, or seams. 4. The node according to claim 1, characterized in that the bent part (9) of the fastening element (6) is made of suspension polyvinyl chloride, and its flat part (10) is made of polyvinyl chloride compound. 5. The node according to claim 1, characterized in that in the protruding part (8) of the tubular profile (2) the wall sections are made closed. 6. The node according to claim 1, characterized in that in the protruding part (8) of the tubular profile (2) sections of the wall are placed with a gap.
