Abstract
Description
Device and principle of operation
A device for personal protection (hereinafter referred to as the “Device”) of vision consists of: a frame, two liquid crystal filters as eyepieces, two mini-cameras mounted in the upper part of the frame above the eyepieces, a switching device, and batteries.
Principle of action: The eyepiece is a w / crystal monochrome screen with a high degree of light transmission and under normal conditions does not obscure or impair visual perception. The signal from the camera is transmitted to the switching device, where it is inverted (in order to turn the visible picture into a negative) and partially cut off by the power level: then only the signal exceeding the threshold power of the light flux is used. In fact, only a negative image of the light source itself is used to operate the filter. At this stage, manual adjustment of the sensitivity threshold of the device and calibration of the image relative to the individual anthropometric data of the observer are provided. The inverted signal is transmitted further to the w / crystal display. As a result, when a light source appears in the field of view, on the eyepiece (also known as a crystal display), in the region where this source appears, cells of a crystal filter are activated, which do not pass part of the light flux, weakening it to a level of comfortable perception. In conditions of moderate illumination, the Device does not show its presence in any way, except for a slight background dimming of the inherent design of the used liquid crystal filters. When the device is on, the image from the video camera is already transferred to the switch, only the image of objects and the landscape on the eyepiece (eyepieces) will not appear until the signal, depending on the level of illumination, from a specific area of the video camera matrix exceeds the threshold value of the individual settings, in other words, luminous flux from light sources or reflected from objects will not begin to blind the observer. Then the switching device begins to transmit the reversed (inverted) and truncated signal from the in / camera (s) to the eyepiece (eyepieces). The observer will see these areas (light sources, glare surfaces, etc.) as darkened areas, dark spots of various configurations, moreover, the picture of these dimming will be static if, for example, the observer is watching the sunset motionless, or will constantly change if he (the observer ) rides, for example, in a night city and sees a contrasting picture of moving and stationary objects of different illumination and light sources of different power.
