However, such a ceramic flux has a limited scope, determined by its functional purpose, and is not intended for automatic welding and surfacing of high-alloy corrosion-resistant steels of austenitic class.
Famous ceramic flux for automatic welding and surfacing (Patent RF №2493945 publ. 27.09.2013 bull. №27), containing components in the following ratio, wt. including: aluminum oxide, introduced in the form of alumina and / or electrocorundum 14-27, magnesium oxide 14-27, sodium oxide 0.1-4.0, potassium oxide 0.1-3.0, silicon oxide 14-23, calcium oxide 0.1-6.0, calcium fluoride 14-25, aluminum powder 0.1-2.5, zirconium oxide 0.1-9.0, chromium oxide 0.1-5.0, ferrochrome or metallic chromium 0, 1-4.0, ferromanganese or manganese metal 0.1-4.0, ferromolybdenum or molybdenum metal 0.1-4.0, sodium silicate - the rest. The ratio of the content of silicon oxide to the total content of aluminum oxide and zirconium oxide is 0.62-0.99, and the ratio of the content of silicon oxide to the total content of magnesium oxide and sodium oxide is 0.7-0.99. The main disadvantages include the use of expensive ferroalloys, which leads to higher prices for products.
Currently, welding of high-alloyed steels under flux is carried out using either oxygen neutral fluoride fluxes, or protective alloying in combination with high-alloyed electrode wire.
%:Fluoride fluxes of the ANF-5 type are the most rational for welding high-alloyed steels, which provide good protection and metal treatment of the weld pool metal, which makes it possible to alloy the weld pool with titanium through the electrode wire. At the same time, the welding process is insensitive to the formation of pores in the weld metal due to hydrogen. However, fluoride-free oxygen-free fluxes have relatively low technological properties. Fluxes of three grades of the same chemical composition, but with a different grain structure: AN-26C - glassy, AN-26P - pumiceal, AN-26SP - a mixture of vitreous and pumiceum buildings. In their composition, they contain SiO 2 , CaO, Al 2 O 3 , CaF 2 in the following ratio of components, mass. %:
Low-silicon low-manganese saloxide flux with chemical activity AF = 0.45-0.5. When mechanized welding of chromium-nickel steels under flux, silicon is intensively proceeding - reduction processes. As a result, the weld metal is largely enriched with fine oxide inclusions. The oxygen content in the weld metal is 0.8-0.10%. Therefore, flux is not recommended for welding steels with a thickness greater than 40 mm. In combination with flux, the use of welding wire with a ferrite content of less than 4% is not recommended in order to avoid the formation of pores and cracks, especially when welding rigid structures. A significant drawback of welding flux brand AN-26C is its environmental impact, since this welding flux is made by melting charge materials.
Fluxes from foreign manufacturers are also known and widely used in Russia - ESAB (Sweden), (Germany), Lincoln Electric (USA) However, the cost of imported flux is 2-3 times higher.
The closest of the well-known solutions in terms of their technical essence and the achieved result is the OK Flux 10.92 (ESAB) welding flux selected as a prototype having the chemical composition:
2,5.This flux is used for butt welding of stainless steel materials and surfacing with stainless steel tape. Flux is a neutral, ceramic, alloyed seam. The presence of Cr compensates for its burnout during welding. Ferrochrome is used as a source of Cr, for the manufacture of which additional substantial costs are required. The raw materials for the production of ferrochrome are metallurgical chrome ores, which must contain at least 40% Cr2O3, and the Cr: Fe ratio must be at least 2.5.
When using it, the process stability is ensured in a wide range of speeds and currents, as well as a smooth overlap of the deposition rollers. However, the cost of this flux is very high.
The main difficulties that arise when welding high-alloyed steels include ensuring the resistance of the weld metal and heat affected zone to the formation of cracks, corrosion resistance of welded joints, obtaining and maintaining the required properties during the operation, welded joints, and obtaining tight welds.
The technical solution proposed by the applicant solves the problem - the creation of a domestic, high-tech welding flux, which provides high-quality weld metal and surfacing.
A number of technological and metallurgical requirements are imposed on welding fluxes:
- быть более легкоплавким, чем основной и присадочный металл;- to be more fusible than the base and filler metal;
- хорошо растекаться по нагретой поверхности металла, обладать высокой жидкотекучестью;- spread well over the heated metal surface, possess high fluidity;
- не должен выделять в процессе сварки ядовитые газы;- must not give off toxic gases during the welding process;
- не должен способствовать коррозии сварного соединения.- should not contribute to corrosion of the welded joint.
- должен иметь высокую реакционную способность, активно раскислять окислы, переводить их в легкоплавкие соединения или растворять их так, чтобы процесс удаления окислов из металла заканчивался до затвердевания сварочной ванны;- must have a high reactivity, actively deoxidize oxides, convert them into low-melting compounds or dissolve them so that the process of removing oxides from the metal ends before the weld pool hardens;
- образующийся во время сварки шлак должен хорошо защищать металл от окисления и от взаимодействия с газами окружающей атмосферы, а также хорошо отделяться от металла после остывания;- the slag formed during welding must protect the metal well from oxidation and from interaction with the gases of the surrounding atmosphere, and also be well separated from the metal after cooling;
- плотность флюса должна быть меньше плотности основного и присадочного металла, чтобы шлак всплывал на поверхность сварочной ванны, а не оставался в металле шва.- flux density should be less than the density of the main and filler metal so that slag floats to the surface of the weld pool and does not remain in the weld metal.
The technical result of the claimed invention is expressed in expanding the functionality by providing the possibility of automatic welding and surfacing of high-alloyed corrosion-resistant steels of the austenitic class, in improving the welding and technological properties of the flux, increasing the resistance of the weld metal and surfacing to intercrystalline corrosion surfacing and, as a consequence, an increase in the quality and service life of the weld and weld weld in a wide range of tempera tour, as well as a significant reduction in cost.
3The essence of the proposed technical solution is expressed in the totality of essential features sufficient to achieve the claimed technical result provided by the invention, which is expressed in the creation of a flux containing SiO 2 , CaO, MgO, Al 2 O 3 , CaF 2 , Cr, with Cr as the source chromite sand is used. Chromite sand is supplied according to TU 0741-001-23081308-12 whose chemical composition, wt%: Cr 2 O 3 = 46.80; Fe 2 O 3 = 28.90; Al 2 O 3 = 14.60 MgO = 9.59; SiO 2 = 0.36; CaO = 0.05. The total ratio of chemical elements flux, wt. % Al 2 O 3 = 13-18; SiO 2 = 28-33; CaO = 6-8; MgO = 27-32; CaF 2 = 8-12; Cr at least 3
The calculation for 100% determines the content of each component. So the content of chromite sand according to the calculated formula will be 13%, and for 1 ton it is 130 kg. This will ensure the required amount of chromium in the flux. The invention is based on an experimentally established fact. Positive test results were obtained at JSC Uralkriomash for the use of flux in the manufacture of cryogenic vessels working under pressure with an operating temperature of minus 270 ° C, as well as at JSC Ruzkhimmash - tests for resistance to intergranular corrosion. During the experiments, a group of inventors were the first to notice that the proposed mass ratio of the chemical composition of the flux gives liquid slag, which protects the bath, dissolves chromium oxides and deoxidizing weld metal. The chromium content in the flux provides a high content of the ferritic phase in the weld metal, thus reducing the risk of hot cracking. Excessive alloying of high-alloyed steels during welding optimizes corrosion resistance, compensating for segregation weld heterogeneity
Chromite sand is widely used in foundry. Feature and advantages of chromite sand - low thermal expansion, provides cooling of the surface, improves the control of solidification, reduces burning and metal penetration, low risk of cuttings. Its inertness to iron oxides, as well as poor wettability by metal, prevents the formation of chemical and metallic burns and improves the conditions for the crystallization of the metal. The use of chromite sand in the flux composition made it possible not only to fulfill a number of technological and metallurgical requirements and to obtain a high-quality weld, but also significantly (several times) to reduce the cost of welding flux.

The degree of development of cellular-dendritic heterogeneity is determined by the composition of the alloys and solidification conditions. Dendritic and cellular structures are clearly visible on microsections of welded joints of single-phase alloys. The heterogeneity of the solid solution is better detected by chemical etching, the higher the concentration of alloying elements in the alloys. In many cases, cells and dendrites can be observed directly on the surface of the welds.
The structural non-uniformity of the welded joint can be significantly reduced by heat treatment.
Thus, studies of welds on samples showed that when using flux manufactured according to the invention, they have good welding and technological properties. The proposed flux for automatic welding of corrosion-resistant and heat-resistant steels allows for the favorable formation of the weld metal and its high technological strength in terms of resistance to hot cracking. I would also like to note that such a composition of the flux reduces its cost by 2-3 times, which is an important criterion for the domestic consumer.
