Abstract
Description
The invention is intended for continuous measurement of the viscosity of a liquid by a pulsed method in various technological processes, in particular in the process of controlling the production of drying oil, pentaphthalic and glyphthalic varnishes and resins.
Viscosity is the most important qualitative characteristic of liquid media, since it directly depends on the structure of the substance and shows the physicochemical state of the material and the changes occurring in the technology. Therefore, many methods are known for measuring fluid viscosity.
In the paint industry, the periodic method of measuring viscosity is most often used, using a viscometer, which is a 100 ml conical container, with its top down, in the lower part of the container there is a calibrated hole through which fluid flows out under the action of gravity. Viscosity is determined in seconds, by the time the fluid flows from the tank. The disadvantage of this method is that it takes a long time to measure, especially at high viscosity of the liquid. In addition, it is necessary to carry out all measurements at a certain temperature, in order to achieve comparability of the results.
It is known to measure the viscosity of a liquid by the method of falling balls, according to which the viscosity of a liquid is judged by the uniform speed of immersion in it of a ball probe of known radius and with a known density of material. The disadvantage of this method is that it is necessary to provide conditions for the laminar flow around the moving ball of the investigated fluid.
РФ №2295718).A known method for determining the viscosity is that the sensing element in the form of a ball connected by a flexible thread thrown through the block with a counterweight is placed in a measured viscous medium and the movement of the ball is recorded, the ball and counterbalance are balanced among themselves in the air by performing the same mass, the ball immersed in a liquid to a certain depth and accelerated upwards in a measured viscous medium under the action of Archimedes force. Thus, at the surface of the liquid, the ball will have kinetic energy, which, with the further movement of the ball in the air, is spent on overcoming the friction force in the block until it stops completely, as a result of which the ball bounces to a certain height above the surface of the liquid. After that, the height of the ball bouncing above the surface of the liquid is measured, the value of which is used to judge the viscosity using the scale of displacement of the counterweight calibrated in units of viscosity when lifting the ball above the surface of the liquid (US Pat. RF No. 2295718).
The disadvantages of this viscometer include low productivity, the inability to automatically measure viscosity, since it is necessary to perform a number of operations manually, as well as to refill it with a new portion of the test fluid.

The closest in technical essence and the achieved effect to the present invention is an invention in which a capillary is used to measure the viscosity of a liquid, mounted in the lower part of the intake tank containing a piston with a rod, two limit switches, a reversible DC motor, the intake tank is made in the form of a cylinder , further comprises a movable platform attached to the piston rod and by means of guides connected to a fixed platform, with dates fixed to it with a force indicator and a shutter that closes the contacts of the end switches made in the form of reed switches, while a screw with a groove is attached to the fixed platform, kept from rotation by bushings with a guide spike and connected to a reversible DC motor controlled by a speed adjustment and stabilization unit through a nut and a system of gears, in this case, the nut is located between the tapered plain bearings, and an optocoupler is installed on one of the gears, connected in the same way as the two end eating, a force sensor with a universal control unit and information processing, which contains a control unit and stabilization of revolutions, an electronic display of viscosity and a power source (US Pat. RF №2370751,
The measured parameter in this invention is the force that occurs when the test fluid is pushed through the capillary.
The disadvantages of this invention are low productivity, the complexity of the design of a device for measuring viscosity, the inability to perform continuous automatic measurement of viscosity, since it is necessary to clean the measuring device and refill it with a new portion of the test fluid.
The problem to which the invention is directed, is to create a new method for continuous measurement of viscosity.
The solution of this problem is achieved by the fact that, in contrast to the prototype in the proposed device, the pressure in the measuring chamber is created by the pulse method, for a short time in small portions of the investigated fluid. The device is built into an existing production line and allows for continuous measurements.
