Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method according to the preamble of
Currently, plywood boards are used as protective sheets in packages of plywood boards supplied from plywood factories to protect stacks of plywood boards from impact and wear. Especially plywood made from processed softwood, which is supplied by the furniture industry, should be well protected during transport from shock loads, wear and scratches. Practice shows that protective sheets made of plywood should contain at least three layers of veneer in order to achieve sufficient resistance to the loads acting on the packaging during transportation and movement. Plywood boards are often used in packages of various other such products that require adequate resistance to impact, wear and scratches during transport and storage. Protective sheets made of plywood were usually used as a surface on which product and order information could be applied in packaging.
Due to their stiffness, strength and relatively good moisture resistance, plywood boards are well suited for use as protective sheets in packages requiring resistance to wear, scratches and impact loads. However, one drawback regarding their use is that plywood is relatively expensive, and thus is often too valuable material to be used as packaging material. For example, when plywood boards made at a plywood mill are used as packaging material, the use of plywood boards for this purpose consumes the production capacity of the mill itself. Also, a plywood mill cannot sell plywood boards used as protective sheets, and the use of plywood made at the mill for this purpose also reduces the profit from the sale of plywood products. Plywood made from several layers of veneer is also a relatively heavy material, in which the resulting increase in weight also increases the cost of transporting products packaged in this way.
The aim of the present invention is the disclosure of a new method of packaging products that must be protected from shock, wear and scratches, as well as packaging and packaging material, through which the aforementioned disadvantages associated with the packaging methods of the prior art can be eliminated. In particular, it is an object of the present invention to disclose a new method for packaging products that require adequate resistance to impact, wear and scratches, as well as packaging and packaging material, by which the amount of veneer commonly used in such packages can be reduced compared to prior art packaging. In addition, it is an object of the invention to provide a protective sheet that is suitable for use as a packaging material and which is more suitable as a surface for various markings applied to packages, such as product and order information.
The idea of the method, packaging and packaging material according to the invention is that in packages requiring adequate resistance to impact, wear and scratches, the protective sheet used in place of previously used plywood containing at least three layers of veneer is a protective sheet made of packaging material formed from one naturally curved veneer coated on both sides with a film or fibrous reinforcing material. As used herein, the term “veneer” refers to a continuous, connected and / or end-to-end veneer. Typically, such a veneer is currently made by peeling or planing, but the veneer can also be made by cutting veneer from wood in the direction of the radius of the tree trunk. In the connected veneer, the veneer made in this way was glued next to each other, and in the veneer connected to the lock, it was glued one after the other. In the present invention, the veneer also has a naturally curved shape (usually at least in the direction perpendicular to the fiber). This means that it is often not necessary to straighten the veneer before attaching the reinforcing materials to the veneer surface. We can say that the veneer has a naturally curved shape, and when it was partially straightened, so that the natural curvature of the veneer still remained to such an extent that the deviation from flatness, measured from it, was at least 3 mm / m. In this application, the term “deviation from flatness” refers to the greatest distance from this surface of a veneer element one meter long, placed on a flat surface that is located on a flat surface (i.e., the bottom surface of the veneer), to this flat surface due to a curved shape. However, it should also be noted that the deviation from flatness due to the curved shape of the naturally curved veneer can be significantly larger than the lowest value mentioned. Typically, the deviation from flatness determined in the aforementioned manner is from about 10 to 50 mm / m for uncut veneer.
The reinforcing material used as a veneer coating in this application refers to a material that is relatively thin compared to the veneer and is usually made of a fibrous, film or cloth material, but which should have something like a certain tensile strength at least one direction of the veneer surface to be coated. For example, various types of paints and coatings that do not have tensile strength are thus not the reinforcing materials mentioned in the present invention.
More specifically, the method according to the invention is characterized in that it will be presented in the characterizing part of
The method, packaging and packaging material according to the invention provide significant advantages compared with the methods and packaging of the prior art. Thanks to the method, packaging and packaging material according to the invention, protective sheets of packages that require adequate resistance to impact, wear and scratches and which currently use plywood, the amount of veneer required is reduced by at least about 60%, since the protective sheets of the previous of the prior art, which are made of plywood, at least three layers of veneer are present, while in the packages and packaging material according to the invention the number of layers of veneer can be t be reduced to one. The cost savings achieved in this way are significant, as comparative calculations show that the price per square meter of a protective plywood board manufactured by the currently known method is 2.1 € / m 2 higher than the price per square meter of a protective sheet made of packaging material according to the invention and used in the packaging according to the invention. Thanks to the method, packaging and packaging material according to the invention, the weight of the packaging is also reduced, and a finished base well suited for various coloring materials used for marking purposes (such as, for example, coloring materials printed by inkjet printing devices) is achieved on the surface packaging for marking packaging. Due to the naturally curved veneer used as the starting material for the packaging material, the package absorbs shock, possibly directed at it, since the curved protective sheets can be located on the package so that there are free spaces between the products inside the package and the protective sheets, and the above-mentioned free spaces allow the protective sheets to bend when the impact is directed to this section of the protective sheet. In addition, an advantage of the method, packaging and packaging material according to the invention is that when painted film or fiber materials are used to cover veneers, it is easier and cheaper than before to achieve the desired color for the packages, and thus the appearance of the package becomes more uniform. In addition, by means of veneers coated with film or fiber reinforcing material, it is easier than before to change the quality properties of packages, such as their resistance to impact, wear and moisture, in order to meet the requirements established by the transportation method and transportation conditions. Thus, it is easier than before to give the packaging the right dimensions to meet any specific need.
Further, the invention will be described in more detail by way of example exemplary embodiment and with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
фиг.1 показывает вид в перспективе упаковки, изготовленной по способу согласно изобретению, иfigure 1 shows a perspective view of the packaging made by the method according to the invention, and
1.Figure 2 shows a schematic drawing depicting the structure of the packaging material used in the package according to figure 1.
The package according to figure 1 contains a
Figure 2 shows the structure of the
The
8.In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the supporting
The
The necessary markings about the product and order, of course, are also carried out on the packaging. They can be pre-applied on kraft paper attached to the outer surface of the veneer, on finished protective sheets before packing, or on finished packaging. The veneer, reinforced on both sides with kraft paper and used as a protective sheet, provides, in any case, a good basis for applying such markings, for example, by an inkjet printing device or other similar mechanical marking device. It is also easy to manually label packaging with a kraft paper surface at the aforementioned production steps or later.
The method according to the invention and the packaging made according to it can be carried out by a method that in many respects differs from the example of the embodiment above. Firstly, packaging can be packaging of many different products, the design of which can be changed in many different ways. The appearance of the package may be rectangular or curved, for example cylindrical, since the packaging material according to the invention has a naturally curved shape and can be easily curved in a direction perpendicular to the veneer fibers, in a more curved shape than its natural curvature, or in a slightly more straight form ( however, it should not be fully straightened into a flat shape, since then the advantage of a slight curvature in the security of the package is lost). It is also possible to use, for example, a pallet made of wooden battens or veneer battens, as a substrate for packaging various plate products, such as plywood boards, similar to those of an example embodiment, in which the carrier beams were previously attached by means of nails or other suitable means. In contrast to the above example embodiment, the package may also contain protective sheets at the ends of the package, while in the case of plywood products, the package is the so-called fully protected packaging of plywood products. Also, these protective sheets are most preferably made of packaging material according to the invention made in the manner described above. Naturally, the quantity and material of the fastening means, such as the constricting tapes, related to the packaging, as well as the quantity and materials of the supporting bars, intermediate beams and protective corners, can vary. Products packaged in a package can also be arranged in a package in various ways, next to each other, one after another, or on top of each other.
In view of the invention, an essential part of the package, however, is the structure of the packaging material used as a protective sheet in the package. The veneer used as packaging material can be made of any kind of wood. Naturally, the thickness of the veneer used can vary if necessary. To achieve sufficient rigidity, the veneer should preferably be at least about 1 mm thick. By increasing or decreasing the thickness of the veneer it is possible to regulate the security of the package and, on the other hand, the amount of wood required for it. Instead of kraft paper, it is possible to use various synthetic materials or films, such as non-woven materials or films made of polyethylene, polypropylene or PET plastic, as a reinforcing material on the veneer surface. Various adhesives can be used when gluing reinforcing material. Suitable adhesives include, for example, various types of polymer-based adhesives and adhesives based on urea-formaldehyde, resorcinol-formaldehyde and phenol-formaldehyde resins. Layers of reinforcing material can also be formed on the surface of the veneer by laminating or by injecting / pouring a reinforcing fluid, such as reinforcing thermoplastics, onto the surface of the veneer. It should also be noted that film or fibrous materials on different sides of the veneer layer do not have to be of the same material. In an embodiment of the packaging according to the invention, the packaging material used as a protective sheet can be realized, for example, so that it contains kraft paper on the outer surface and one of the aforementioned fibrous or film materials on the inner surface.
The invention is not limited to the above examples of embodiments, but it may vary within the scope of the invention presented in the attached claims.
