Abstract

SUBSTANCE: packing is intended for packing foodstuff for preparation in microwave. Packing has casing with top front main sheet, bottom front sheet and rear sheet, sealed edge-to-edge. Packing has repeatedly closing hole for feeding foodstuff, discharging means, located to close closing hole so that air flow is directed outside the said hole with increased inner air pressure, and direct air aside from an aperture at increase of internal pressure of air, and weakened sealing arranged on a part of aforesaid edge-to-edge sealing. With inner pressure reaching the critical point, weakened sealing is broken off. Aforesaid critical point is reached, when internal pressure exceeds external pressure in a degree, sufficient for breaking weakened seal.

Description

Field of Invention

The present invention relates, in General, to the field of packaging and, in particular, to packaging with improved reclosable opening suitable for home use, especially for use as packaging for food products in the microwave.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Currently, frozen or extended shelf-life foods intended for reheating using a microwave oven are becoming increasingly popular. Unused or pre-cooked foods can be packaged and stored. Before eating, consumers only need to reheat these frozen foods in the microwave.

When food is heated in a microwave, the moisture contained in these foods quickly heats up and turns into steam. As the temperature in the package rises when heated, the pressure in the package rises. Consumers often puncture or cut a corner or puncture holes in a package so that when heated, steam can exit the package.

Thus, a package having a weakened sealing or valve allowing steam to escape during the heating process will provide an improved method for heating food products in a microwave oven. Packages with loose sealing or a valve allowing steam to escape are already known. However, these packages are only suitable for the food manufacturer, since it is not practical for a general user to have a heat seal machine or a heat seal machine at home after putting food into the package.

In the present invention, the packaging is modified to meet the requirements of household consumers who do not have access to a heat sealing device by making a resealable opening, outlet means and loose sealing on the package. The reclosable opening acts as an opening for inserting a specific item, especially food, into the packaging. The resealable opening can be closed for storage without the use of heat-sealing or other glue. On the other hand, the diverting means is preliminarily positioned in such a way and is sized for this to close the re-closing opening. A diverting means is attached to the main packaging sheets at the top to direct the air flow away from the re-opening. When the increased internal air pressure reaches a critical point, the weakened sealing ruptures to release air.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main objective of the present invention is to provide a packaging with a resealable opening, a diverting means and a weakened sealing, which will be convenient for a user who does not have a heat sealing device, especially a domestic user, for use in a microwave oven for reheating.

Other objectives and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following description, which is given with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which, by way of illustration and example, an embodiment of the present invention is disclosed.

For the purposes of this patent application, the term “packaging” as used throughout the specification includes all kinds of packages within the scope of the present invention. It should be understood that such use of this term does not limit the scope of the claims to certain designs and (or) options for the implementation of the proposed packaging.

Accordingly, the present invention relates to a packaging with an improved reclosable opening, which comprises a diverting means which is preliminarily positioned in such a way that it is large enough to close the reclosable opening, preferably a zipper, to direct the air flow away from zippers with increasing internal air pressure, and weakened sealing. When the internal pressure reaches a critical point, the packaging in a weakened seal where air escapes will burst.

The present invention can be used to heat food products in a microwave oven. A reclosable opening allows consumers to insert items, especially food, into the packaging. Using a resealable opening, the packaging can be closed without the need for a heat seal apparatus or other heat seal machine. On the other hand, weakened sealing allows to obtain a method that does not require piercing the package before heating in a microwave oven.

The present invention provides a package comprising an upper front packaging sheet, a lower front packaging sheet and a rear packaging sheet, sealed together to form a sealing edge to edge. The term “edge-to-edge sealing”, used in this description, means the complete sealing of the entire edge of the package sheet when it is folded to enclose the subject. One or more parts of the sealed edge can be made weak, or more specifically, as a weakened sealing, to relieve increased internal pressure. Weakened sealing can be created by:

a) using a heat seal temperature below the sealing temperature used to form the rest of the sealing edge to edge;

b) the use of the intended sealing area, less than the sealing area of the rest;

c) making an incision on the sealing part edge to edge;

d) placing the film between the front and back sheets of the packaging on the sealing part edge to edge, where the film is made of a second material.

In a preferred embodiment, weakened sealing is created by placing a film made of a second material between the front and back sheets of the package. This film can be of any shape, for example in the form of narrow tips, as well as triangular or tapering shapes.

In one preferred embodiment, the material of the packaging sheet and film is selected from any polyethylene and its derivatives, polyester and its derivatives, polypropylene and its derivatives, nylon and its derivatives, or any suitable polymer or combination thereof. The upper front main package sheet, the lower front main package sheet and the rear main package sheet are made of the first material, and the film that creates a weakened sealing is made of the second material. Any main packaging sheet may be made of a third material, provided that the sealing of the main packaging sheets is stronger than the weakened sealing.

The package may be a flexible, sealed on three sides bag, a standing bag and a flexible, sealed on six sides bag.

Embodiments of the present invention will become clearer from the following description, which is given with reference to the accompanying figures.

A brief description of the graphic material

The figures are an integral part of the present description and illustrate exemplary embodiments of the invention, which can be embodied in various forms. It should be understood that in some cases, various aspects of the invention may appear to be exaggerated or enlarged to facilitate understanding of the invention.

Detailed Description of Preferred Embodiments

A detailed description of a preferred embodiment is provided herein. However, it should be understood that the present invention can be carried out in various ways. Therefore, the specific details disclosed in the present description should not be interpreted as limiting the scope of the present invention, but, on the contrary, as the basis for the claims and as an indicative basis in order to teach a person skilled in the art to use the present invention in virtually any appropriately detailed system , designs and in almost any way.

Figure 1 is a top view of the proposed packaging. In accordance with the present invention, a flexible, sealed on three sides package (100) is one embodiment of the present invention. This flexible, sealed on three sides package consists of a packaging body comprising an upper front main packaging sheet (102), a lower front main packaging sheet (201) and a rear packaging main sheet (not shown) that are sealed to form edge-to-edge sealing, repeatedly a closing opening (101), preferably a zipper, diverting means (103) and loose sealing (104). The zipper (101) is preliminarily positioned so as to be closed by a diverting means (103). In accordance with the present invention, FIG. 1 also illustrates a diverting means (103), which is preliminarily positioned in such a way that it is large enough to close a re-closing opening (101) to direct the air flow away from the closing opening (101) when increasing internal air pressure. When the increased internal air pressure reaches a critical point, the packaging in a weakened seal (104) will burst to release air. The critical point is reached when the internal air pressure exceeds the external air pressure to a degree sufficient to break the weakened sealing (104).

In the practical implementation of the present invention, the diverting means (103) is an elongated portion of the upper front main sheet (102) of the package. The diverting means (103) may also be another film sealed between the upper front main package sheet (102) and the rear main package sheet to form a flange or sash. In accordance with the present invention, the front main sheet (102) of the package and its elongated portion, the outlet means (103), are made of the first material. In another preferred embodiment, the front main sheet (102) of the package and its elongated portion — the outlet means (103) —can be made of a second material, as shown in FIG. 6.1. The sealing between the upper front main sheet (102) of the package and the rear main sheet of the package will thus become weakened by the sealing (104) of FIG. 6.1.

In order to fulfill an important function of the invention, the weakened sealing (104) shown in FIG. 1 is created by placing a film made of a second material. This film is placed between two layers of the main sheet of the package, preferably at the top of the sealing edge to edge. The sealing between the second material and any main packaging sheet is weaker than the sealing between the main packaging sheets. Sealing edge to edge will be described in more detail with reference to FIG.

Sealing weakened (104) may also be sealing with a width that is less than the sealing width of the remaining sealing edge to edge, as shown in FIG. Figure 2 shows the upper sealing area — weakened sealing (104) —with a sealing width smaller than the rest of the sealing area, the sealing plate used to create the upper sealing has a smaller width than the sealing plate for other sealing locations. The sealing of a smaller width is weaker than the sealing carried out by the same means, but with a wider sealing.

Figure 2.1 illustrates a weakened sealing (104), which is a sealing with an area smaller than the sealing area of the rest of the sealing edge to edge. This intended sealing area may be created by a recess on the sealing plate.

Another embodiment of the weakened sealing (104) is shown in FIG. The weakened sealing (104) is created by an incision on the sealing part edge to edge.

Figure 4 figuratively presents the layers of weakened sealing (104) created by placing a film (202) made of a second material between the upper front main sheet (102) of the package and the rear main sheet (203) of the package. The weakened sealing (104) may be in any part of the sealing edge to edge. However, the weakened sealing is preferably located at the top of the sealing edge to edge. Please note that if the loose sealing in the side of the sealing is edge to edge, the film (202) is placed between the lower front main sheet (201) of the package and the rear main sheet (203) of the package. The main packaging sheets are made of the first material. In another embodiment, any one of the main sheets of the package may be made of a third material.

Figure 5 presents a re-closing hole (101), preferably a zipper made of a pair of female and male elements 301 and 302 engaged with each other. The zipper can be opened and re-closed to allow the user to insert objects, especially food products. In this case, consumers can heat food in this package without having to puncture the package before heating the microwave. The female element (301) is located on the lower front main sheet (201) of the package, the male element (302) is located on the upper layer of the front main sheet of the package (102) or vice versa.

6 is a cross section of the package in the middle, which illustrates the position of the diverting means (103) and the zipper (301 and 302), preliminarily arranged so that the zipper (301 and 302) is closed by the diverting means (103). With increasing internal air pressure, the outlet means (103) directs the air flow away from the zipper (301 and 302). When the elevated air pressure reaches a critical point, the packaging in a weakened seal (104) will break to release air, but the zipper (301 and 302) will remain intact because it is closed by a diverting means (103). The critical point is reached when the internal air pressure exceeds the external air pressure to a degree sufficient to break the weakened sealing (104). According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the diverting means (103) is a continuation of the upper front packaging main sheet (102). Between the upper front main sheet (102) of the package and the rear main sheet (203) of the package is a film (202) made of a second material. The sealing of this second material with the main packaging sheet is a weakened sealing (104).

Figure 6.1 presents another embodiment of the present invention, in which the upper front main sheet (102) of the package and its elongated portion - outlet means (103) - are made of a second material. As the internal air pressure rises to a critical point, part of the upper front main sheet (102) of the package is separated from the rest of the package, since the sealing between the second material and the main sheet of the package is a weakened sealing (104).

In accordance with one important distinguishing feature of the present invention, FIG. 7 shows a cross section of a bag at a sealed edge. Between the upper front main sheet (102) of the package and the rear main sheet (203) of the package is a film (202) designed to create a weakened sealing. The film (202) is made of a second material. The elongated portion of the upper front packaging main sheet (102) is a diverting means (103). Weakened sealing can be located anywhere edge-to-edge sealing, in which a film (202) can also be placed between the lower front main sheet (201) of the package and the rear main sheet (203) of the package.

In another embodiment, the upper front main sheet (102) of the package and its elongated portion — the outlet means (103) —can be made of a second material, as shown in FIG. 6.1. A cross-section of the bag at the sealed edge is shown in Fig. 7.1. The sealing between the upper front packaging main sheet (102), which is made of the second material, and the rear packaging main sheet (203) is weaker than the rest of the sealing edge to edge. When the increase in internal air pressure reaches a critical point, a part of said outlet means (103) or, more specifically, a part of the front main sheet (102) of the package is separated from the rest of the package.

FIG. 8 is a perspective view of different layers of packaging sheets in accordance with a preferred embodiment of the present invention. The elongation of the upper front main sheet (102) of the package forms a diverting means (103), the diverting means being large enough to close the re-closing opening or, more specifically, the zipper (301 and 302), so that with increasing internal air pressure direct the air flow away from the zipper (301 and 302). The zipper (301 and 302) can be opened and re-closed. The zipper is a hole for users to insert an item into the package. As shown in FIG. 8, a film made of a second material is placed between the upper front main sheet (102) of the package and the rear main sheet (203) of the package. Sealing edge to edge of the film (202) with the upper front packaging main sheet (102) and the rear packaging main sheet (203) forms a weakened sealing. The edges of the package are sealed to obtain sealing edge to edge in the area indicated by the arrows.

Packaging is not limited to a flexible package sealed on three sides. Other embodiments of the present invention are possible, such as a standing bag (400) shown in FIG. 9 and a flexible, sealed on six sides bag (500) shown in FIG. 10.

Figure 9 shows a standing bag (400) as one view of a preferred embodiment of the present invention. A standing bag (400) is obtained by inserting a layer of the packaging sheet (401) into the base of the package between the lower front packaging main sheet (201) and the rear packaging main sheet (203). The layer of the packaging sheet (401) is preferably made of a first material. The weakened sealing (104) is created at the top of the sealing edge to edge by any one of the four methods described above.

Figure 10 presents a flexible, sealed on six sides of the package (500). A layer of the first packaging sheet (501) is inserted in the base of the package between the lower front main packaging sheet (201) and the rear packaging main sheet (203). A second packaging sheet (502) is inserted at the top between the upper front main packaging sheet (102) and the rear main packaging sheet (203). The first packaging sheet (501) and the second packaging sheet (502) are preferably made of the first material. In accordance with preferred embodiments of the present invention, weakened sealing (104) is created at the top of the sealing edge to edge. Weakened sealing can be created by any one of the four methods described above.

Although the invention has been described in connection with a preferred embodiment, it is not intended to limit the scope of the invention to the particular form described, but rather is intended to encompass changes, modifications, and equivalents that may be included within the spirit and scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims.

Claims (14)

1. Packaging with improved reclosable opening, containing:
a package body comprising an upper front main packaging sheet, a lower front main packaging sheet and a rear main packaging sheet, sealed to form edge-to-edge sealing;
a resealable opening on said package for inserting objects into said package;
a diverting means closing said re-closing hole, which is preliminarily positioned so as to direct the air flow from said re-closing hole when internal air pressure rises; and
weakened sealing formed on a part of said sealing edge to edge, characterized in that when said increase in internal air pressure reaches a critical point, said weakened sealing is broken. 2. Packaging with the improved reclosable opening according to claim 1, characterized in that said weakened sealing is created by using a heat sealing temperature below the sealing temperature used to form the rest of said sealing edge to edge. 3. Packaging with the improved reclosable opening according to claim 1, characterized in that said weakened sealing is an intended sealing area smaller than the sealing area of the rest of the sealing edge to edge. 4. Packaging with an improved reclosable opening according to claim 1, characterized in that said weakened sealing is created by making an incision on a part of said sealing edge to edge. 5. Packaging with the improved reclosable opening according to claim 1, characterized in that said weakened sealing is created by placing a film between said front and back main sheets of the package on a part of said sealing edge to edge, where said film is made of a material different from the material any of the specified front and rear main sheets of packaging. 6. Packaging with an improved reclosable opening according to any one of claims 2-5, characterized in that said weakened sealing is at the top of said sealing edge to edge. 7. Packaging with an improved reclosable opening according to claim 1, characterized in that said critical point is reached when the internal air pressure exceeds the external air pressure to a degree sufficient to break said weakened sealing. 8. Packaging with an improved reclosable opening according to claim 1, characterized in that said reclosable opening is a zipper. 9. Packaging with an improved reclosable opening according to claim 1, characterized in that said outlet means is an elongated part of said upper front main package sheet. 10. Packaging with improved reclosable opening, containing:
a resealable opening on said package for inserting objects into said package;
a venting means closing said reclosable opening preliminarily positioned so as to direct an air flow from said reclosable opening, and when the increase in internal air pressure reaches a critical point, part of said diversion means is separated from the rest of the package;
a package body comprising an upper front main packaging sheet, a lower front main packaging sheet and a rear main packaging sheet, sealed to form edge to edge sealing;
loose sealing formed in said sealing edge to the edge of the specified upper front main packaging sheet and the specified rear main packaging sheet, said upper front main packaging sheet made of a material different from the material of the specified rear main packaging sheet, characterized in that when the specified increase internal air pressure reaches a critical point, the specified weakened sealing is torn. 11. Packaging with an improved reclosable opening according to claim 10, characterized in that said lower front main package sheet is made of a second material, and said rear main package sheet is made of a third material, where said sealing edge to edge is made between said lower the front main sheet of the package and the specified back main sheet of the package, stronger than the specified weakened sealing. 12. Packaging with improved reclosable opening according to claim 10, characterized in that said outlet means is an elongated part of the specified upper front main sheet of the package. 13. The packaging with the improved reclosable opening of claim 10, wherein said critical point is reached when the internal air pressure exceeds the external air pressure to a degree sufficient to break said weakened sealing. 14. Packaging with an improved reclosable opening according to claim 10, characterized in that said reclosable opening is a zipper.
