Description

The invention relates to devices that allow you to process individual parts of the corpse, namely the head and hands, to maintain them in a state of suitability for identification and delivery to a stationary morgue. The invention can be used for mass deaths.

There is a method of surface embalming of a corpse from ancient times: ancient Egyptian embalmers placed squares of thin matter in several layers on the head, thus forming a mask saturated with various resins (D.I.Vyvodtsev "Embalming and methods for preserving anatomical preparations and animal corpses" St. Petersburg , 1881, p. 23).

Currently known method of surface embalming, which is used in cases of low preservative content on the area of the skin of the corpse after vascular embalming or when you want to save the site of damaged skin of the corpse. A padded jacket (layer of gauze, layer of cotton, layer of gauze) is applied to the affected area. Before applying, a padded jacket is impregnated with a preservative solution. The padded jacket is covered with polyethylene (L.E. Kuznetsov, V.V. Khokhlov, S.P. Fadeev, V.B.Shigeyev "Embalming and restoration of corpses" Smolensk-Moscow, 1999, p.180-181).

The disadvantages of the method:

- the preparation of materials for application to the face and hands of the corpse is carried out immediately before use, and this requires a preservative and time;

- the hygroscopic material is impregnated with a preservative solution in the room where the corpse is located, which leads to the appearance of preservative vapors in this room, which is harmful to others;

- the dressing dries quickly and can move during transportation;

- the preparatory period of the method of surface embalming of the face is unacceptable for the mass death of people during natural or man-made disasters.

The objective of the present invention is the rapid production of surface embalming of a corpse’s face during mass deaths during natural or man-made disasters using the “package for regional surface embalming”, which gives additional time for identifying the dead and the ability to deliver corpses to morgues for further storage.

The problem is achieved by the fact that they produce surface regional embalming, namely the head and hands of the corpse, using the proposed package. The package for regional surface embalming contains a layer of absorbent material impregnated with preservative solutions, which is covered with a protective layer of waterproof material. The layer of hygroscopic material is made in the form of a bag and is located inside a sealed inner bag located in the second outer bag. The external package is equipped with a means for fastening and sealing in the lower part and a pocket on the front wall.

The novelty of the method is as follows.

- The hygroscopic layer is made in the form of a bag. This form allows you to cover the processed parts of the corpse, namely the head and hands, from all sides.

- The hygroscopic layer is located inside a moisture-tight, sealed inner bag. This allows preserving the preservation solution during long-term storage and during transportation.

- The inner bag is placed in a second, outer bag, equipped with a means for mounting and sealing in the lower part, as well as a pocket on the front wall. Means for fastening allows you to quickly fix the package in the right place with the provision of sealing and is also easy to remove. Pocket allows you to put identifying documents, instructions for use.

The proposed package for regional surface embalming of the head and hands of the corpse allows you to make it in advance, in an industrial environment. It is easy to transport, store in the field, in places of storage of materials for civil defense and emergency situations. The package can be quickly prepared for use, and anyone can apply it after reading the instructions.

The proposed package is presented in figure 1 and figure 2.

The bag consists of a hygroscopic layer impregnated with preservative solutions in the form of a bag 1 placed in an inner bag 2 made of a moisture-proof material. The inner bag 2 is sealed in the lower part with a joint 3 at the base of the bag 1. The inner bag 2 is placed in the outer bag 4, equipped with means for fastening and sealing 5 in the lower part and a pocket 6 on the front wall.

Package for regional surface embalming is used as follows.

The corpse is laid on its back. The spike 3 of the inner bag 2 is opened, the presence of a preserving solution is checked. As preservative solutions, for example, solutions according to Vyvodtsev can be used. This inner bag 2 with a hygroscopic layer of bag 1 is placed on the head and hands of the corpse. As a hygroscopic layer, medical cotton, hygroscopic synthetic fabrics, etc. can be used. Using the fixing means 5, the outer bag 4 is hermetically closed on the head at the base of the neck, on the hands in the middle third of the forearms. The fixing means 5 can be made in the form of a Velcro tape, drawstring with a lace, etc. The inner bag and the outer bag are made of high pressure polyethylene, which is gas and water tight.

The embalming time using the proposed package is at least 10-12 hours. The tool can not be removed during transportation and storage for a long time.

In the case of mass deaths during industrial or natural disasters, the time for applying the package for regional surface embalming on the head and limbs of the corpse is 2-3 minutes. At the same time, the integument remains longer, which increases the time for identification of the corpse and allows it to be transported. This allows you to deliver corpses to hospitals for identification of corpses and other events, including further basic embalming or other ways to preserve corpses.
