Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a technology for destroying plantings of narcotic plants to combat clandestine drug production.
Currently, the search for plantings of narcotic plants is carried out by employees of special services, and their destruction is carried out by mechanical or physical methods, so the proposed method has no analogues.
A method for destroying plantings of narcotic plants involves breeding phytophages fed with the use of narcotic plants and placing them in a cenosis with the proposed planting of narcotic plants.
The method is implemented as follows.
Phytophages are bred in the laboratory, adding a narcotic plant to the feed, the planting of which is planned to be destroyed using these phytophages. The introduction of narcotic plants into phytophages leads to the fact that phytophages refuse other types of food. When phytophages reach the development stage in which they destroy the maximum number of plants, they are released into cenosis, where it is assumed that there are plantings of narcotic plants. Phytophages fed by narcotic plants independently find in the cenosis of planting of narcotic plants, get to them and, depending on the density of phytophages that have reached planting, completely destroy it or cause significant damage to it.
With the consumption of narcotic plants, phytophages lose their ability to eat other plant species and reproduce. This leads to the death of phytophages after the destruction of all narcotic plants or after collecting plants from the planting site. Therefore, the release of phytophages so diluted into cenoses does not harm the rest of the cenosis.
To confirm the achievement of this result, an experimental check was carried out. In the laboratory, phytophages of Heliothis armigera Hb were bred. , Pieris reper L., Loxostege sticticalis L., in the feed of which hemp and opium poppy were introduced. Then they were released into the planting of various agricultural plants at a distance of 3 km from the plot with the planting of the corresponding narcotic plants. After 1-2 weeks, plots of narcotic plants were completely destroyed. No food traces of released phytophages in plantings of agricultural plants were found. Natural populations of the same phytophage species did not increase above the natural level by the next release season.
In laboratory conditions, observations showed that the larvae of phytophages fed with the use of narcotic plants do not pupate and the adults do not mate, any individuals die several days after the disappearance of the narcotic plants, even if other sources of food are present.
Thus, the proposed method allows to detect and destroy plantings of narcotic plants by biological means without harming the surrounding biocenosis.
