Abstract
Description
The invention relates to medicine, and more specifically to neurosurgery.
In connection with an increase in overall life expectancy, the number of patients with parkinsonism increased. According to foreign data, the frequency of occurrence of Parkinsonism and Parkinson's disease per 100,000 people in the general population is 65-187 people. Moreover, in recent decades there has been an increase in the number of Parkinsonism diseases among people of working age, which especially requires the further development of various methods of treatment and rehabilitation of patients.
The use of traditional methods of treating parkinsonism - drug therapy with DOPA-containing drugs, pallidotomy or YL-thalatomy, which reduce the intensity of the symptoms of this disease (hypokinesia or akinesia, muscle rigidity, tremor, stiffness of movement), does not always lead to a positive effect. All this determines the need to find new approaches in the treatment of parkinsonism, Parkinson's disease.
[6, 7]. One of such methods was neurotransplantation of fetal brain cells into the caudate nucleus, in the shell, or endolumbally [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]. The prototype of the proposed method is the stereotactic introduction of fetal brain cells into the caudate body or into the shell of the recipient's brain, which is the most effective method of treating parkinsonism and Parkinson's disease. During stereotactic administration, the transplanted cells form strong intercellular connections with the recipient brain, which leads to partial reinnervation of the damaged areas of the recipient brain with the release of mediators at the physiological level [6, 7].
At the same time, the method of stereotactic introduction of cells is an operative measure with a rather high percentage of complications, contraindications associated with manipulations on the brain, and has a short post-transplant therapeutic effect.
The basis of the invention is the task to reduce the number of complications and increase the therapeutic effect.
The essence of the invention lies in the fact that in a method of treating parkinsonism and Parkinson’s disease, including transplantation of a neonatal developmental cell culture of adrenal medulla cells, the transplantation is carried out at 2-5 points of the meridian of nervous degeneration depending on the volume of damage to the nervous system and taking into account the data of electropuncture studies .
As a result, the proposed method for the treatment of Parkinsonism and Parkinson's disease eliminates the above disadvantages of the prototype. The proposed method is technically easy to implement and absolutely safe. Moreover, the use of pre-cultured adrenal medulla cells reduces the immunological activity of the transplant, which prolongs the therapeutic effect of transplantation.
The method is as follows. Separate the brain layer from the cortical layer of the adrenal glands isolated from one-day piglets. Prepare a culture of adrenal medulla cells. Cells are cultured in a rotational manner for several days with daily determination of the concentration of hormones in the nutrient medium. For transplantation, a three-day culture of adrenal medulla cells is used. The transplant is carried out with an injection needle to the points of the "interested" meridians of nervous degeneration, taking into account the data of electro-puncture studies. A mixture of cells in an amount of 0.2 ml is injected at each point of the meridian. The number of transplantations and points (2-5) depends on the volume of damage to the nervous system.
The invention is illustrated by an example of a specific implementation of the treatment method.
Example 1
A 72-year-old patient was admitted to the hospital with a diagnosis of parkinsonism, spastic form. The disease began to progress over the past two years with the use of DOPA-containing drugs. The patient underwent xenotransplantation of adrenal medullary cell culture at 5 points of the meridian of nervous degeneration, which have the largest deviation from the norm according to electropuncture studies. A 0.2 ml transplant was introduced at each point. A day later, a cell culture transplant was performed at other points (3 points) of the meridian of nervous degeneration, less affected by the results of electro-puncture analysis. On the fifth day, a second transplantation of cell culture was carried out in the first five points of the meridian of nervous degeneration. The patient was discharged on the seventh day after hospitalization in satisfactory condition. Two months after cell transplantation, a decrease in stiffness and tremor was noted. The patient began to service himself at home.
