The objective of the invention is to increase the strength, ductility and toughness.
To achieve this goal, aluminum is additionally introduced into steel containing carbon, silicon, manganese, nickel, chromium, vanadium, calcium and iron in the following ratio of components, wt.%:
Carbon - 0.18-0.22
Silicon - 0.20-0.40
Manganese - 0.50-0.80
Chrome - No more than 0.4
Nickel - 0.05-0.4
Vanadium - 0.02-0.05
Aluminum - 0.01-0.04
Calcium - 0.01-0.02
Iron - Else
The minimum carbon content of 0.18 is selected from the conditions for obtaining the desired level of strength. The maximum carbon content of 0.22 is selected from the conditions for ensuring weldability. The increase in carbon content increases the strength properties. Manganese at a content of up to 0.5 moderately strengthens steel, slightly increases toughness and cold resistance, which is associated with grain refinement. The maximum manganese content of 0.8 was applied so that a further increase in manganese is accompanied by an increase in the share of the pearlite component without a significant change in structure; therefore, the steel hardens with some deterioration in toughness and cold resistance.
By introducing nickel to 0.4, the critical cooling rate decreases and the ability of the steel to improve significantly increases.
The positive role of chromium is that it cleans grains from carbon, and some of them from oxygen.
The minimum vanadium content of 0.02 is accepted for the formation in the steel of highly resistant vanadium carbides having a high dissolution temperature of austenite, contributes to the grinding of grains, and the maximum of 0.05 is taken from conditions to ensure high ductility and viscosity.
Aluminum is a strong deoxidizer and at the same time has a modifying effect on steel, the presence of aluminum in the steel leads to grinding of austenitic grain, increases the yield strength, lowers the transition temperature to a brittle state, improves the weldability of steel.
The introduction of calcium reduces the harmful effects of manganese sulfides, provides the formation of insoluble sulfides formed at higher temperatures.
Non-metallic inclusions acquire a globular shape.
