Most of the year - autumn, spring and part of summer - it's rain, wind, unpleasant cold and wet feet. During these seasons, there are increased requirements for shoes. Off-road hiking is wet branches and grass, tree roots and sticky mud, moss on rocks and slippery clay. Even on a flat and dry stretch of road, you can twist your leg or sprain your ankle. And this is a disaster. A person cannot walk, cannot carry weight, so the whole group suffers, and he must be sent home. Therefore, it is important to understand that the key to successful work, hiking, any kind of movement on a dirty, wet and slippery surface with small stones, branches, grass and mud sticking to the feet is good, well-chosen shoes that exclude the possibility of dirt clods sticking to the sole of the shoe and prevent injury and reduce the speed of movement. In order to prevent dirt clods from sticking to shoes, a number of devices are used - various sprays and water-repellent impregnations, various oils and creams for shoes, mechanical devices worn on the shoes themselves for temporary situational protection of shoes that are not intended for use in an unfavorable environment and even to protect special shoes. Such mechanical devices include galoshes, raincoats and protective covers for shoes, disposable and reusable shoe covers, etc. For the manufacture of such products, a wide variety of materials are used - rubber of various technical characteristics, silicone, shoe covers made of polyethylene, polypropylene, spunboard or fabric. For these purposes, the author proposes to create a product consisting of a lower part in the form of a shoe cover (overshoes) worn over shoes worn by a person connected to the upper part in the form of a gaiter. Both parts must meet certain requirements. The bottom shoe cover (overshoe) should be easily and quickly put on shoes and for this it should be stretchable. In addition, it must keep its shape and have a special side protector. The main function of this product lies precisely in the shape and location of the side protector on the shoe cover, since it is thanks to it that the product will prevent the process of sticking large lumps of wet and slippery dirt to the shoes. The presence of a large, heavy and slippery lump of dirt on the foot during fast movement in extreme conditions can undoubtedly lead to unforeseen injuries that threaten the health and life of a person. Even if this person is a professional. The upper part should be in the form of a gaiter, connected to the lower shoe cover, made of lightweight, wrinkle-resistant and waterproof material.
