Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of metallurgy, in particular to the production of structural steels with reduced hardenability, obtained in open-hearth furnaces and intended for hardening of critical, heavy-loaded machine parts by volume-surface hardening.
For the practical implementation of the process of volume-surface hardening, steels are needed whose hardenability is less than that of carbon steels. A decrease in hardenability of steel is achieved by an appropriate choice of their chemical composition, for example, a decrease in the content of alloying elements. In addition to a given chemical composition, steels should have a low tendency to increase austenite grain during heating under quenching, which is necessary to ensure the smallest grain in the structure of hardened steel. The tendency to grain growth largely depends on the characteristics of smelting and deoxidation of steel.
(А.с. СССР N 191600, C 21 C 7/06, 1967 г.). A known method of producing steel with reduced hardenability, comprising treating the melt with mischmetal or ferrocerium in an amount of 0.10-0.15%, aluminum and titanium alloys. (A.S. USSR N 191600, C 21 C 7/06, 1967).
The steels obtained by this method have a large spread from smelting to smelting properties of hardenability and a tendency to grain growth. This requires adjustment of the heating mode during quenching for each heat. The method is also characterized by the use of expensive deoxidizers (ferrocerium), which increases the cost of steel and makes it difficult to obtain.
6-37). The closest in technical essence and the achieved result is a method for the production of carbon steel with reduced hardenability, which involves loading a metal charge from an iron-carbon alloy (cast iron) and scrap with a regulated content of chromium, nickel and copper in the open-hearth furnace, taken in calculated quantities, introducing slag-forming , heating and melting the mixture, downloading slag, heating the bath to a finishing temperature, finishing the melt in composition and temperature during polishing and clean boiling, to adjustment of the composition during periods of polishing and clean boiling, deoxidation of the metal in the furnace and when it is released into the ladle or in the ladle with aluminum and the introduction of silicon and its alloys. (Technological instruction N M-17-76 for steelmaking in the main and two-chamber furnaces of the plant. Cherepovets, 1977, p. 6-37).
The known method allows not to use expensive deoxidizing agents during smelting and deoxidation, however, steels smelted in this way are characterized by sharp and unstable grain growth during heating under quenching in the temperature range Ac 3 -Ac 3 +100 o C. Therefore, such steels are usually in a quenched state have an austenite-martensite grain of 7-8 points (average grain area of 1000-500 μm 2 ), which leads to a lower value of the tensile strength of hardened steel (no more than 2000 MPa at a hardness of 56-60 HRC) and an increased value of its brittleness.
The objective of the invention is the development of a method for smelting and deoxidation of steel of low hardenability, which has increased strength and service properties. The invention consists in the following.
Ac3+100oC.The technical result of the invention is to achieve guaranteed stability of low hardenability properties and to obtain "ultrafine" grains of austenite-martensite of hardened steel with a value of 11-12 points (average area 60-30 μm 2 ) when quenching from temperatures in the range from Ac 3 to Ac 3 +100 o C.
0,10%. As a metal charge, an iron-carbon alloy and scrap with the content of chromium, nickel and copper in them are used, each providing not more than 0.10% by melting, and adjusting the composition of the slag during polishing and clean boiling is done by repeatedly downloading part of the slag from the furnace and additives in the furnace of slag-forming materials in order to ensure that the manganese content is not more than 0.10% in the melt upon release (depending on the requirements of TU) due to such repeated replacement of slag.
0,06-0,12%. A prerequisite is that silicon and its alloys are not used as deoxidizing agents. Deoxidation is carried out by aluminum and titanium and its alloys in amounts that ensure the content of 0.03-0.10% aluminum and 0.06-0.12% titanium in the finished metal.
All the necessary silicon and its alloys are introduced into the ladle in deoxidized steel during the period when the ladle is filled, more than 2/3 of the ladle volume, after 100% aluminum and 50% titanium are introduced into the melt.
Reducing the content of manganese in the melt to the required amount is carried out by repeatedly (2 to 3 times) updating (replacing) the slag with simultaneous rapid analysis for the content of manganese in the metal.
0,5%. According to the invention, it is preferable to use a semi-product obtained after devanadization of vanadium cast iron containing manganese, chromium, nickel, copper of not more than 0.10% each, or pig iron with manganese content of not more than 0.5%, according to the invention, as an iron-carbon alloy in a charge.
In the latter case, the reduction of the manganese content to the required amount is carried out, as indicated above, by repeated replacement of slag.
The boiling process is carried out to prevent, to the extent possible, overheating of the bath in order to reduce the recovery of manganese from slag and thereby facilitate and accelerate the achievement of the required low manganese content in the molten metal.
The application of the proposed method allows to achieve austenite-martensite grains at a level of 11-12 points in a steel quenched from temperatures in the range Ac 3 +100 o C on a standard scale (average grain area 60-30 μm 2 ), i.e. 15-20 times finer than with known methods of steelmaking. This allows you to significantly increase the margin of its plasticity in the hardened state and to practically implement a high-strength state (tensile strength 2500-2800 MPa, HRC 60, with a carbon content of 0.5-0.8%) and to provide high values of static and fatigue strength and durability in heavily loaded machine parts.
