Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of adsorption purification of hydrocarbon fractions from sulfur compounds and can be used in gas and oil refineries for fine purification of mercaptans and hydrogen sulfide liquefied hydrocarbon gases and other light hydrocarbon fractions.
In particular, the proposed method can be used in plants that produce hydrocarbon propellant. According to TU 39-892-93, the propellant consumed by household chemical plants is a propane-butane fraction, which has a pleasant sweetish odor, which is achieved when the mercaptan sulfur content is not more than 1 million -1 - pro-slip concentration in this case. The content of sulfur compounds in the initial propane-butane fraction until purification, typically is 0.0004 - 0.004 wt% or 4 -. 40 million per -1 sulfur. In this case, sulfur compounds are represented by mercaptan and hydrogen sulfide sulfur, which determine the unpleasant smell of gas.
N 147178, 1962/. The known method of fine purification of hydrocarbon fractions from sulfur compounds by percolation (passing) them through a NaX zeolite / I.V. Keltsev. The basics of adsorption technology. M .: Chemistry, 1984, p. 386-401 / or sequentially through zeolites NaA and NaX / USSR N 147178, 1962 /.
A disadvantage of the known methods is the low efficiency of purification from sulfur compounds.
N 1565498, B 01 D 53/02, 1990/. The technical nature and the achieved result closest to the claimed method is a method for purifying petroleum gases from mercaptans and hydrogen sulfide by sequential adsorption by zeolites CaA and NaX / USSR N 1565498, B 01 D 53/02, 1990 /.
The disadvantage of this method is the relatively low cleaning efficiency due to the short runtime and insufficiently high dynamic activity of zeolites with respect to the starting sulfur compounds.
In addition, this method, when used for fine purification of the propane-butane fraction from sulfur compounds upon receipt of the propellant, does not ensure the absence of a smell of mercaptans and hydrogen sulfide.
Задачей настоящего изобретения является повышение эффективности процесса цеолитной очистки углеводородных фракций от сернистых соединений и обеспечение отсутствия запаха меркаптанов и сероводорода в продукте при проскоковой концентрации сернистых соединений не выше 1 млн-1.The objective of the present invention is to increase the efficiency of the process of zeolite purification of hydrocarbon fractions from sulfur compounds and ensuring the absence of odor of mercaptans and hydrogen sulfide in the product at a breakthrough concentration of sulfur compounds not higher than 1 million -1 .
According to the invention, the task is achieved in that the hydrocarbon fraction in front of the zeolite purification step from sulfur compounds is contacted with a sorbent having oxidizing properties with respect to sulfur compounds, using hopcalite as it.
Hopcalite is a catalyst for the oxidation of carbon monoxide (CO) by atmospheric oxygen to carbon dioxide (CO 2 ). The main component of hopcalite is active manganese dioxide. Hopcalite is produced in the form of granules of a certain size and is used in gas masks in the presence of CO in the air, as well as in devices for monitoring the CO content in rooms / Brief chemical encyclopedia. M., 1961, p. 987 /. Currently, hopcalite, as a catalyst, is produced according to TU 6-16-2432-80 under the name "hopcalite - HFG" (molded hoplite with the addition of clay), which contains more than 60% MnO 2 about 20% CuO, metal impurities and clay.
In the proposed method, preliminary contacting of the initial hydrocarbon fraction is carried out in a separate adsorber with a hopcalite layer in an amount equal to the amount of zeolite used and under the same conditions (pressure, temperature, space velocity) as when this fraction was contacted with zeolite.
As a result of this contact, sulfur compounds, namely mercaptans and hydrogen sulfide, are oxidized to disulfides and elemental sulfur. These oxidation products are heavier compounds, with higher boiling points than the starting sulfur compounds, and, accordingly, are much more easily and more sorbed by zeolite adsorbents. The above is well illustrated by the example of methyl mercaptan CH 3 SH, which has a boiling point of 6 o C and is practically not sorbed by the zeolite in the presence of water, the amount of which in the composition of the liquefied gas is usually greater than methyl mercaptan. The oxidation product dimethyldisulfide CH 3 -SS-CH 3 has a boiling point of 110 o C and is sorbed, preferably water. In addition, dimethyldisulfide has tens of times lower odor intensity compared to methyl mercaptan.
Example 1. The hydrocarbon fraction, namely the propane-butane fraction of the following composition, wt.%: CH 4 sl .; C 2 H 6 0.13; C 3 H 8 20.67; i is C 4 H 10 64.75; n is C 4 H 10 14.44; C 5 H 12 words; H 2 O 0.01; H 2 S 0.001; CH 3 SH 0,0041 (41m -1 in terms of sulfur) at a pressure of 0.45 MPa, temperature 22 - 24 o C in an amount of 180 cm 3 / h is fed to the adsorber diameter of 22 mm, filled with zeolite NaX (granules of 1 - 2 mm) in an amount of 100 cm 3 . The zeolite is pre-activated in a stream of nitrogen at 250 o C for 4 hours
The duration of the zeolite before the breakthrough is determined by the concentration of sulfur compounds at the outlet of the adsorber. For taking Proskokovo concentration of sulfur compounds content above 1 million -1. According to the amount of adsorbed sulfur before the breakthrough, the dynamic activity of the zeolite is calculated. Analysis of sulfur compounds in the purified fraction before and after purification is carried out by chromatographic method. In this case, a flame photometric detector is used, which makes it possible to determine the microconcentrations of sulfur compounds based on sulfur. The test results are shown in the table. The smell of the purified fraction did not meet the specifications of the propellant.
Example 2. A propane-butane fraction of the same composition and under the same conditions as in Example 1 is passed sequentially through a first adsorber filled with 100 cm 3 CaA zeolite (granules 1 - 2 mm in size) and through a second adsorber filled with 100 cm 3 zeolite NaX (granules with a size of 1 - 2 mm). In this example, the amount of adsorbent has actually doubled. Accordingly, the operating time of the zeolite before the breakthrough increased and its dynamic activity increased, although it was calculated on the entire number of zeolites in both adsorbers. The test results are shown in the table.
In this case, the organoleptic parameters of the purified fraction did not meet the requirements for the propellant.
Example 3. A propane-butane fraction of the same composition and under the same conditions as in Example 1 is passed sequentially through a first adsorber filled with 100 cm 3 of hopcalite (granules 1 - 2 mm in size) and through a second adsorber filled with 100 cm 3 zeolite NaX (granules 1 - 2 mm in size). The operating time of the zeolite before the breakthrough in this example significantly increased, and the dynamic activity of the zeolite also significantly increased. The test results are shown in the table.
The smell of the purified fraction was pleasant, sweetish and corresponded to the specifications of the propellant. After reaching a breakdown concentration, the zeolite is regenerated in a stream of nitrogen at 250 ° C. for 6 hours. Cooling is also carried out in a stream of nitrogen. After regeneration of the zeolite, it is used in the next adsorption cycle. The test results are shown in the table.
The table shows that the use of the proposed method of hopcalite can significantly increase the operating time of the zeolite and its dynamic activity, and thereby increase the efficiency of the process of fine purification of hydrocarbon fractions from sulfur compounds.
In addition, the proposed method due to the use of hopcalite allows to obtain at a concentration of sulfur compounds in the range of 1 million -1 propane-butane fraction with a complete absence of the smell of mercaptans and hydrogen sulfide, which is necessary for the production of propellant.
