Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a complex feed according to the restrictive part of paragraph 1 of the claims. Another object of the invention is a feeding method according to the preamble of claim 5.
Milk fever is one of the most common diseases in dairy cows in Finland. Especially susceptible to milk fever are those cows that have had several calving (more than 2 - 3). However, the challenge is to ensure a longer period of milk production from cows (5-6 calving / cow). However, in practice, cows have to be sent to the slaughter much earlier. The most common causes of this are inflammation of the udder and milk fever.
30 - 34). The main task when using the food of the dry period and the diet of the dry period is to improve the health status of the cow. "Dry period" refers to the period preceding the section during which the cow is given such food in order to bring it into an appropriate state. The composition of such feed includes additives of mineral salts, taking into account the need for them during this period (see. Norms and rations for feeding farm animals. Reference manual. Moscow, Agropromizdat, 1985, p. 30 - 34).
Milk fever causes a sharp decrease in the calcium content in the blood of the cow at the initial stage of intensive milk production and the subsequent greatly increased need for calcium after calving.
It is known that milk fever can be prevented by providing an adjustable cation-anion balance of cow nutrition, and on the other hand, by limiting the calcium content. It has been established that a special diet with a high content of anions reduces the risk of milk fever in cows. The anionic-cationic balance in the feed of cows is determined by the following formula: (sodium + potassium) - (chlorine + sulfur) milliequivalent / kg dry matter. In a conventional complex feed, this ratio is about 220 milliequivalents / kg dry matter, in a silo - about 240 milliequivalents / kg dry matter. The anionic diet for cows contains more chlorine and sulfur than sodium and potassium. The effect of the anionic diet has not been fully elucidated, however, presumably, it causes a steady mobilization of calcium from bones directly or through increased secretion by reducing calcium retention.
However, the problem is that cows do not like anionic mineral feed. It is given along with mineral feed. However, cows do not consume food with a high content of anions, i.e. they just refuse to eat it. Therefore, attempts to prevent milk fever through the use of feeds with a high content of anions fail; on the other hand, mineral food with a high content of anions cannot be mixed with other food, since in this case the components of the food will separate and the anionic food will remain uneaten.
Another problem is the high hygroscopicity of anionic salts, so feed containing anionic salts turns into lumps and nutrients are unevenly distributed in the feed.
Thus, in practice it is not possible to give cows anionic food, although its positive effect on preventing milk fever is known.
д. The present invention is the creation of a new type of complex feed for feeding cows during the dry period, the use of which will help prevent milk fever. In this case, a complex food means a food that contains all the usual nutrients needed for cows, in particular proteins, carbohydrates, trace elements, vitamins, etc.
Distinctive features of the invention are disclosed in the claims.
According to the invention, the complex feed for feeding cows during the dry period for preventing milk fever is characterized in that it contains the feed components necessary for the cows during the dry period, and anionic salts, and also that the complex feed is granulated so that the feed components and anionic salts form a homogeneous homogeneous and mainly solid mixture.
In the process of research carried out in connection with the invention, it was unexpectedly discovered that when adding anionic salts to a complex feed for cows, i.e. into a feed containing all the nutrients needed by the cows, and by granulating the mixture thus formed, a complex feed is obtained in which all feed components are evenly distributed and which is much more pleasant to the cows than mineral feed containing anionic salts. Therefore, the invention allows to introduce a feeding diet for cows having the desired cationic-anionic balance.
Thus, the invention is a combination in which a well-known mineral feed with a known cationic-anion balance is mixed with a known complex feed and the resulting feed mixture is granulated in a known manner. Despite the apparent simplicity, the invention is an important step forward in preventing milk fever. It should be emphasized that in livestock breeding, milk fever is a complex economic problem, the solution of which has not yet been found. Only now, thanks to the invention, as the tests show, it becomes possible to significantly reduce the occurrence of milk fever. This confirms the presence of novelty and inventive step of the invention, which are particularly emphasized by its importance, as well as the fact that only in this invention the correct combination of constituent elements is achieved to achieve the desired result.
It should further be noted that a significant reduction in the occurrence of milk fever as a result of eating granular feed, known in itself, turned out to be a really new and unexpected circumstance.
In the complex feed according to the invention, cations (Na + K) and anions (Cl + S) are in a ratio in which the number of cations (Na + K) is less than the number of anions (Cl + S) by 300 to 5000 meq / kg dry matter contained in the feed, preferably from 750 to 1500 meq / kg dry matter, depending on the amount consumed.
The given values express the cation-anion balance in milliequivalents per kilogram of dry matter. This ratio of cations and anions in the feed provides the best results for preventing milk fever in cows. The content of anionic salts in the complex feed according to the invention in the General case is about 4 to 20%, preferably about 6 to 12% of the total weight of the feed.
The following anionic salts can be used in the complex feed according to the invention: ammonium chloride, ammonium sulfate, magnesium sulfate, calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, calcium sulfate and / or sulfur color. Residual molasses containing sulfur may also be added to the feed according to the invention, from which potassium is precipitated by sulfur compounds.
The feed according to the invention can be granulated by any method known in the field of feed production, for example using a planar sleeve pellet matrix granulator, extrusion press granulator, expander or other known granulating machine or device.
According to the invention, in the diet of feeding cows during the dry period, the cows are given a complex feed about 3 to 4 weeks before the department, while this complex feed contains the feed components necessary for the cows during the dry period, as well as anionic salts, and, in addition, said complex feed is granulated so that the feed mixture is homogeneous.
In the feeding ration according to the invention, cations (Na + K) and anions (Cl + S) are in a ratio in which the number of cations (Na + K) is less than the number of anions (Cl + S) by 0 to 400 meq / kg dry matter contained in the feed, preferably from 50 to 250 meq / kg of dry matter.
In the diet according to the invention, the cows are given the complex food according to the invention in an amount of about 1 to 5 kg / day. A complex diet ends during calving. In addition to complex feed, cows are given water and silage and / or roughage, such as hay.
An advantage of the invention is to reduce the negative impact of anionic salts on taste, since they are mixed and granulated with a complex feed, which provides a low concentration of anionic salts. In addition, all feed components according to the invention are uniformly distributed throughout the feed mass and are not separated from one another. Therefore, the complex feed according to the invention provides a reliable dosage of the desired anionic salts. In addition, since the complex feed for the dry period contains all the necessary feed components, it facilitates the task of feeding livestock on the farm, as eliminates the need for a separate mineral feed that is difficult to distribute and that is not tasty for cows.
Example. A lengthy field experiment was conducted on an experimental farm. During the experiment, 28 cows received a complex feed during the dry period, in which the ratio of (Na + K) and (Cl + S) in meq / kg of dry matter corresponded to a complete diet according to the invention. Previously, cows had at least three calving. Milk fever appeared in 4 cows, which accounted for 14% of the group.
е. Previously, the experiment was carried out on the same experimental farm, and as a control group, 34 cows were used that previously had at least three calves and who received a complex dry meal typical of the dry period during the dry period. Milk fever appeared in 11 cows, i.e. in 32% of the group.
Thus, according to preliminary observations, the number of cases of the appearance of milk fever was reduced by more than 50% when the diet according to the invention was used when feeding pregnant cows during the dry period.
The invention is not limited to the implementation of the above example, but many other modifications are possible within the scope of the inventive concept described in the claims.
