Известна спортивная граната (см. Шехмель А.Я. "Обучение технике метания в школе". Л., 1950, с. 15-24), выполненная в виде цельнометаллического цилиндрического тела с утоньшением для хвата рукой. Использование такого снаряда приводит к разрушению покрытий то ли в помещениях, то ли на стадионах, кроме того нет возможности регулировки веса и граната имеет несовершенную аэродинамическую форму.
