Abstract
Description
The invention relates to medicine and veterinary medicine, namely to stimulants of the gastrointestinal tract.
[1]. Known electrical stimulator of the gastrointestinal tract in the form of a medicinal capsule, which is two electrically isolated parts containing a generator, a power source and electrodes. An electrical stimulator is used to relieve atony and intestinal paresis [1].
[2]. Known electrical stimulator of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT), in which the electrode-anode is covered with a continuous conductive film of at least 10 microns to prevent hypermicroelementosis in the body of a biological object [2].
The disadvantage of the above electrical stimulators is the presence of a Faraday current, i.e. dissolution of the electrode material in the gastrointestinal tract and the absorption of trace elements contained in the electrode material through the intestinal wall into the blood (endogenous trace element electrophoresis). In practical medicine, electrical stimulation of the gastrointestinal tract is often necessary, but without endogenous electrophoresis. For example, it was found that the accumulation of copper in the body occurs with atherosclerosis and cataracts, and the accumulation of zinc in tissues is carcinogenic, etc. This drawback is eliminated by the fact that in the electric stimulator of the gastrointestinal tract, including a pulse generator, a power source and electrodes representing two electrically isolated parts of the drug capsule, the electrodes are made of porous carbon graphite.
i = iз + iф.It is known that the current flowing through the electrode-solution interface consists of the charging current (i h ) of the double electric layer and the current due to the electrochemical reaction (Faraday current i f )
i = i s + i f .
Since carbon graphite behaves neutrally in the gastrointestinal tract, the Faraday component of the current is absent and gastrointestinal tract stimulation will occur without endogenous electrophoresis of trace elements from the material of the electrodes.
The proposed electrostimulator of the gastrointestinal tract was experimentally performed on the basis of the commercially available autonomous electrostimulator of the gastrointestinal tract (AESZHKT) 1MO.089.331 TU, in which the stainless steel caps-electrodes were replaced with porous carbon graphite electrodes.
The drawing shows a diagram of the design of the proposed electrical stimulator of the gastrointestinal tract.
The pacemaker consists of a capsule body 1, which is made in the form of two electrically isolated parts serving as electrodes 2 and 3 in contact with the intestinal walls. Inside the housing there is a pulse generator 4 and a power source from galvanic cells 5, 6 and 7, a spring 8, which provides electrical contact between the electrodes. Plus goes to the electrode 2, and minus from the pulse generator 4 to the electrode 3. The electrodes 2 and 3 are made of porous carbon graphite. The size of the electric stimulator is limited by the possibility of introducing it into the gastrointestinal tract of a patient or animal by ingestion.
Electrical stimulator of the digestive tract works as follows.
An electrical stimulator is introduced into the gastrointestinal tract of a patient or animal by swallowing or casting it through the throat with a special tool. A series of rectangular pulses of a given characteristic comes from the pulse generator 4 to the electrodes 2 and 3 of the electrostimulator, which act on the intestinal wall both directly in contact with it and indirectly through the conductive medium of the gastrointestinal tract. The intestinal response in the form of a peristaltic wave propels the contents of the intestine and electrostimulator into the distal intestines, where the process repeats. The porous surface of the electrodes adsorbs impurities and toxic substances located in the intestine. This process is similar to adsorption by activated carbon (carbolene), used in the poisoning of a living organism. The presence of an electric field promotes the deposition of ionized impurities located in the intestines on the electrodes of the electrostimulator, and enhances intestinal motility, thereby ensuring the evacuation of the electrostimulator and intestinal contents from the human or animal body.
The study found that AESC with graphite electrodes restores the motility of the entire gastrointestinal tract, and the pores of carbon graphite are filled with impurities of various nature, which cleanses the intestines.
Using the proposed gastrointestinal electrical stimulator allows eliminating endogenous electrophoresis of microelements in the human or animal body, using porous carbon graphite as electrodes to cleanse the intestines of various impurities, and restore intestinal motility.
