Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of non-ferrous metallurgy, in particular copper, and can be used for the processing of oxidized materials containing heavy non-ferrous metals.
Upon receipt of the copper-calcium alloy by electrolysis of calcium chloride, bottom slags are formed containing copper. To ensure the normal operation of the bath, the slag is periodically removed, which leads to intensive interaction with atmospheric oxygen. Thus, waste products containing graphite, calcium oxide, iron and up to 30% copper oxide arise.
2000oC.Currently, various methods of processing slag containing copper are used. However, the known methods of reducing smelting, in which the interaction of copper oxides with carbon or carbon monoxide occurs [1], are not suitable for the specified product. This is due to the presence in the slag of calcium oxide, which is not reduced by carbon (up to 1800 o C) and has a high melting point. Thus, obtaining a copper ingot in this way is possible only at a temperature of more than 2000 o C.
A known method of processing slag containing copper by sulfuric acid leaching, followed by electric separation of cathode copper from sulfate solutions [2] is also unsuitable due to the formation of gypsum on the surface of the slag particles.
Also known is an electrolytic method for the extraction of copper from hydroxide slag in an electrolyte containing sodium chloride [3]. The disadvantage here is the receipt of loose sediment. And, if the slag contains up to 20% hydroxide of an alkaline earth metal, the resulting copper is of low quality impurities.
Недостатками данного способа являются большой расход кислоты, необходимость подогрева раствора, использование дорогостоящей кислотостойкой аппаратуры и отсутствие промышленного опробования данной технологии (масса загрузки не более 50 г).The closest technical solution to the invention is a method for opening dump copper-nickel slag [4]. According to this method, slags are loaded into preheated to 55 - 90 o C 15 - 20% hydrochloric acid and, after exposure, filtering is carried out. The disadvantages of this method are the high consumption of acid, the need to heat the solution, the use of expensive acid-resistant equipment and the lack of industrial testing of this technology (load weight not more than 50 g).
The purpose of the invention is to reduce acid consumption and energy consumption, as well as simplifying the hardware design for carrying out the process on an industrial scale.
This goal is achieved in that, in contrast to the known method of opening dump copper-nickel slags, including treating them with hydrochloric acid solution followed by filtration, according to the claimed method, slag pulp is first prepared and then acid is introduced into it to a predetermined pH value (5.5 - 6.5) solution.
Finely dispersed pulp particles, having a developed surface, allow the process to be carried out at room temperature.
When hydrochloric acid is introduced into the pulp, the process of transferring refractory calcium oxide to a chloride solution proceeds in a neutral environment. This avoids the use of acid-resistant materials and simplifies the hardware design of the process.
The resulting solution of calcium chloride after evaporation and drying is suitable for electrolysis.
The residue obtained after filtration is a mixture of graphite, iron and copper oxide and is a ready-made charge for the recovery of smelting by known methods.
In general, the introduction of acid into the pulp allows one to obtain valuable products from slag and eliminates the formation of waste. In analogs, leaching is used for these purposes, leading to increased waste generation.
In the analyzed sources - patent and technical literature - technical solutions that have the totality of all the essential features of the claimed invention are not identified.
150 kg of slag were charged into the reactor (material St.3) and water was poured. The ratio of T: W = 3: 1. With the stirrer turned on, a 15–20% hydrochloric acid solution was introduced at a rate of 15–20 l / min. When the pH of the pulp reached 5.5, the administration of acid was stopped and exposure was performed for 30 minutes. During this time, the pulp pH rose to 6.5. Next, the liquid phase was separated from the solid by filtration on a suction filter. The resulting commercial solution of calcium chloride had a concentration of 400 g / L. The composition of the solid phase before and after acid treatment is presented in the table.
[1].From the data of the table it follows that after processing the slag with acid, refractory calcium oxide is removed. The remaining (2%) calcium is in the form of chloride (melting point T pl 782 o C, which does not interfere with the smelting. Thus, the resulting product is suitable for reductive smelting used for oxidized or calcined sulfide copper ores [1].
