Известно конструкторское решение, позволяющее использовать жилет в качестве рюкзака (патент EP N 0050556, кл.A 41 D 15/04). Трансформируемая одежда представляет собой жилет, состоящий из цельного куска материала, покрывающего верхнюю часть тела и снабженного вырезом для головы - горловиной, а также рукавов и капюшона, которые можно откреплять. Когда жилет-рюкзак используется в качестве рюкзака, рукава вставляются внутрь, а выполненные для них вырезы-проймы закрываются посредством застежек-"молний". Капюшон вставляется внутрь горловины, которая закрывается сверху клапаном посредством крючков.
