Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a luminescent technique, and in particular, to a technology for producing rare-earth oxysulfide phosphors used in the production of fluorescent ELF screens, including color picture tubes.
(1).A known method of producing oxysulfide rare earth cathodoluminophores based on yttrium and europium by calcining the oxides of the corresponding elements, coprecipitated from oxalates and then mixed with a sulfonating reagent and mineralizers, at a temperature of 900-1300 o C for 0.2-5.0 h (1).
(2).A known method of producing an oxysulfide cathodoluminophore based on a mixture of yttrium and europium lanthanide oxides, which can be obtained by coprecipitation of oxalates from a mixture of mineral acid solutions (or carbonates, oxyhydrates) and calcining the latter at 800-1100 o C for 1-5 hours in the presence of sulfonating a reagent, for example, H 2 S, KHS, Na 2 S and alkali metal mineralizing compounds; and then by calcining the obtained oxysulfide phosphor in an inert medium at 1050-1450 o C for 2-3 hours (2).
A disadvantage of the known methods is that the grains of the obtained cathodoluminophore are not faceted, the phosphor powder has a lot of dust
unformed particles and a wide distribution of particle diameter:
σ dispersion of particle distribution> 0.5, average particle diameter d 50% > 12 μm.
(3).There is also known a method for producing a cathodoluminophore based on yttrium and europium oxysulfide composition (Y 1-xy Eu x Tb y ) 2 O 2 S, where 0.001 0.00X≅10, 0≅у-10 -4 from a mixture containing compounds of rare-earth rare-earth components elements sulfonating agent sulfur and mineralizers by calcining at 1180 ° C for 2 hours, followed by washing of the calcined product with mineral acid and surface modification (3).
2.The disadvantage of this method is that the distribution of the phosphor particles in diameter s dispersion> 0.5, the particles do not have a clear cut, the shape of the particles is different. The luminance is 748 cd / m 2.
Целью изобретения является формирование зерен люминофора диаметром d50%= 8-12 мкм с правильной однородной огранкой с узким дисперсионным распределением частиц по диаметру s = 0,5÷0,6.The aim of the invention is the formation of phosphor grains with a diameter of d 50% = 8-12 microns with the correct homogeneous faceting with a narrow dispersion distribution of particles in diameter s = 0.5 ÷ 0.6.
This goal is achieved in that the cathodoluminophore based on yttrium and europium oxysulfide is obtained by stepwise heat treatment of a mixture containing yttrium and europium and terbium oxides as a co-activator, sulfur and mineralizers.
Stage 1: the crucible with the charge is placed in a furnace heated to 390-410 o C, maintained at this temperature for 0.5-1.0 hours, then at a speed of 25-28 o / min the temperature is increased to 1160-1240 o C.
Stage 2: maintain the charge at a temperature of 1160-1240 o C for 3-4 hours, then lower the temperature to 1050-1120 o C at a speed of 10-15 o / min.
Stage 3: maintain the product at a temperature of 1050-1120 o C for 1.5-2.0 hours and reduce the temperature to 880-910 o C at a speed of 45-50 o / min and then spontaneous cooling.
The phosphor is then washed with water and mineral acid, for example, HCl and surface modified.
The obtained cathodoluminophore has regular faceting grains with a narrow dispersion distribution of particles σ = 0.5 ÷ 0.6 in diameter with an average diameter of d 50% of 8-12 μm. A decrease in the synthesis temperature at the 2nd stage below 1160 o C leads to a decrease in brightness, to a slight decrease in d 50% and an increase in σ. This is probably explained by the unfavorable conditions for the formation of a solid solution of Y 2 O 2 S-Eu 2 O 2 S and a decrease in the surface tension of the melt of the sulfonating reagent and fluxes, i.e. the optimum conditions for the formation of cathodoliminophore grains are violated. An increase in the synthesis temperature of the 2nd stage above 1120 o C leads to a greater dissolution of alkali metals in Y 2 O 2 S-Eu 2 O 2 S and the formation of solid solutions of rare-earth metals of rare-earth metals with alkali metals, and this all leads to a decrease in brightness, although faceting does not change, but d 50% increases. The decrease is almost the same as the increase in temperature at the first stage, the task of which is to ensure that the sulfonating reagent S 2 and mineralizers form compounds of the Na 2 S type that provides the synthesis of Y 2 O 2 S-Eu 2 O 2 S leads to a decrease chromaticity coordinates "x", to a slight change of d 50%, the faceting of grains is deteriorating. A change in the synthesis temperature leads to the next increase in the cooling rate, as well as a change in one side or the other of the temperature of the 3rd stage does not give the desired result, i.e. there is no clear regular cut on the phosphor grains (if V ocher > 10 o / min) or size d 50% > 12 μm (in the case of a temperature of the 3rd stage below 1050 o C) and a decrease in the brightness of the glow. This is explained by the fact that, in particular, the oxidation of Y 2 O 2 S to Y 2 O 2 SO 4 occurs, which leads to a loss in the brightness of the phosphor and contributes to its significant growth.
This method of manufacturing a cathodoluminophore based on yttrium-europium oxysulfide is carried out as follows: the initial mixture containing yttrium, europium oxides with minor additives of terbium and praseodymium, a sulfonating reagent sulfur and mineralizers such as Na 2 CO 3 , Li 2 CO 3 , LiF, KPO 4 add in the quantity providing melt production, first they are mixed, ground, loaded into crucibles, rammed to a certain bulk density and loaded into crucibles. Then, the heat treatment is carried out according to the following mode: the crucible is loaded into a preheated oven, kept at 390-410 o C, and then the temperature is raised at a speed of V 25-28 o / min to 1160-1240 o C; incubated at T 1160-1240 o C for 3-4 hours, followed by a slow temperature increase at a speed of 10-15 o / min to a temperature of 1050-1120 o C; incubated at a temperature T of 1050-1120 o With 1.5-2.0 hours. This stage ends by lowering the temperature to 380-910 o With a speed of 45-50 o / min (subsequent spontaneous cooling of the product.
The resulting bead is washed with water from by-products, for example, from Na 2 S, mineral acid from polysulfides of the rare earth element. To impart special surface properties, the resulting oxysulfide cathodoluminophore is modified, for example, with Zn-Si compounds and then dried.
